Published 11th April 2018 by viewsofpreethib

11th April’18 – Letter ‘J’

The word I choose for the letter ‘J’ is Jealous.

The quote I choose to go with the word Jealous is- “When guys get jealous, it’s actually kinda cute. When girls get jealous World War III is about to Start”.

LOL 😀 I just couldn’t stop laughing at this quote. Guys and girls do tell me how many of you would agree on this quote?

Hey girls, do you think your guy or hubby looks really cute when he gets jealous? And guys do you think when your girlfriend or wife gets jealous then you will have to face World War III? (hahahahahaha :D)  Is there anyone who thinks this quote can go the other way? 😉 😛

Day 10- NaPoWriMo’18 – Rain!

Published 10th April 2018 by viewsofpreethib

Day 10: Finally, here is our (optional) daily prompt. Usually, we take inspiration from our craft resource, but since our resource is about revision, we’ll go a bit further afield for this one! Today, we’d like to challenge you to write a poem of simultaneity – in which multiple things are happing at once. A nice example might be Emily Dickinson’s “I heard a Fly buzz – when I died”, or this powerful poem by Sarah Green.

Rain!

Lightening,
With thunder,
Dark clouds hover,
People running.

10TH APRIL’18 – A TO Z CHALLENGE – LETTER ‘I’

Published 10th April 2018 by viewsofpreethib

10th April’18 – Letter ‘I’

The word I choose for the letter ‘I’ is Intimacy.

The quote I choose to go with the word Intimacy is- “Intimacy is not who you let touch you. Intimacy is who you text at 3 a.m about your dreams and fears. Intimacy is giving someone your attention, when ten other people are asking for it. Intimacy is the person always in the back of your mind, no matter how distracted you are”.

Story Time: Anu and Raj were introduced to each-other by common friends. They had met couple of times in get-together & had spoken to each-other couple of times but usually formal. One day Raj accidentally met Anu in a CCD where she was sitting alone reading a novel and enjoying her cold coffee. He requested if he can join her for which she agreed. This time Raj tried speaking informally to know more about her, as he liked her on the very first day they were introduced. At one point of time the conversation gets very personal when Raj frankly tells Anu that he likes her and is interested to take it further if she is feels the same.

Day 9: And now, without further ado, our (optional) prompt for the day. In his interview, Smith mentions “ants roll{ing} epic” – a rather charming image! In honour of it, we challenge you today to write a poem in which something big and something small come together. Happy writing!

Together!

Pen and Paper,
Needs of a writer,
They can create,
History to advocate,
When Pen, Paper and Writer come together…

9th April’18 – Letter ‘H’

The word I choose for the letter ‘H’ is Humble.

The quote I choose to go with the word Humble is- “Being humble means recognizing we are not on earth to see how important we can become. But to see how much difference we can make in the lives of others”.

Trying to keep it simple today, I would like to abbreviate the word ‘HUMBLE’ by expanding each letter as per my understanding and how I personally practice in life to be humble.

Day 8- NaPoWriMo’18 – Sisters Of East & Their Spell!

Published 08th April 2018 by viewsofpreethib

Day 8: And now for our prompt (optional, as always). Let’s take a leaf from Shelley’s book, and write poems in which mysterious and magical things occur. Your poem could take the form of a spell, for example, or simply describe an event that can’t be understood literally. Feel free to incorporate crystal balls, fauns, lightning storms, or whatever seems fierce and free and strange. Poetry is like that (at least when you’ve been reading Shelley!) If you’re in search of inspiration, maybe you’ll find it in this poem by Louis Untermeyer, or this one by Kathleen Graber.

The below poem is actually inspired by my favourite movie called “The Craft” & I would like to dedicate my poem to this movie. 😊  The below image of four girls practicing witchcraft is of the movie “The Craft”.

Sisters Of East & Their Spell!

Finally, It was for this very day,
They been waiting for years,
All set for this day, even the weather was favourable,
Sisters in east ready to cast their spells to preach.

Dark black clouds spread the sky,
Thunder, lightning too was clearly visible,
The four girls stood in circle inside a circle of candles,
Around the fire that was in the centre, near a beach.

Day 7- NaPoWriMo’18 – Strength vs Vulnerability!

Published 07th April 2018 by viewsofpreethib

Day 7: Today’s (optional) prompt. In our interview, Kyle Dargan suggests writing out a list of all of your different layers of identity. For example, you might be a wife, a grandmother, a Philadelphian, a dental assistant, a rabid Phillies fan, a seamstress, retiree, agnostic, cancer survivor, etc.. These are all ways you could be described or lenses you could be viewed through. Now divide all of those things into lists of what makes you feel powerful and what makes you feel vulnerable. Now write a poem in which one of the identities from the first list contends or talks with an identity from the second list. This might turn out to be kind of a “heavy” exercise, emotionally, but I hope you will find the results enlightening.

Strength vs Vulnerability!

Who am I is the question,
Am I the Strength or Vulnerability,
Please somebody clear my confusion,
Help me come to conclusion, who is more powerful,
Both, as I see there is no difference…

7TH APRIL’18 – A TO Z CHALLENGE – LETTER ‘G’

Published 07th April 2018 by viewsofpreethib

7th April’18 – Letter ‘G’

The word I choose for the letter ‘G’ is Gratitude.

The quote I choose to go with the word Gratitude is- “An attitude of gratitude is life’s most powerful affirmation”.

We often forget one of the most important aspects in our life which is Gratitude. Most of us are so engrossed with our daily routine life that we repeatedly forget to show our gratitude. It could be to God, in-case you do not believe in any idol but believe in a positive force or spirit, or nature, or people in our life, or if we have a pet. How often do you show or express your gratitude to them?

DAY 6- NAPOWRIMO’18 – I Will Wait For You!

Published 06th April 2018 by viewsofpreethib

Day 6: Today’s prompt (optional, as always): We’d like to challenge you to write a poem that stretches your comfort zone with line breaks. That could be a poem with very long lines, or very short lines. Or a poem that blends the two. You might break to emphasize (or de-emphasize) sounds or rhymes, or to create a moment of hesitation in the middle of a thought. Looking for inspiration? You might take a look at this poem by Lorine Niedeckerthis poem by Stanley Kunitz, or this one by Amiri Baraka.

I will wait for you!

When our eyes looked into each other’s,
There was a connection so strange,
Hiding from everyone’s sight I tried looking at your eyes over and over again,
You didn’t notice,
You stood there so near yet so far making my heart so weak…
