Day 1- NaPoWrimo’18 – Secret Pleasure!

Published 01st April 2018 by viewsofpreethib

Day 1- 2nd prompt – Write a poem based off of Lauren Russell’s collaborative poetry exercise. Today, we challenge you to write a poem that is based on a secret shame, or a secret pleasure. It could be eating too many cookies, or bad movies, or the time you told your sister she could totally brush her teeth with soap. It’s up to you.

I wasn’t gonna write on this prompt but at the last minute I got an inspiration to try it out. Thank you Smitha for being my inspiration. 🙂 This one is just for you 🙂

The poem should function as a sort of riddle, but not necessarily a riddle of the “Why is a raven like a writing desk?” variety. You could choose a word, for example, “yellow,” and make everything in the poem something yellow, but never actually allude to their color. Or perhaps you could closely describe a famous physical location or person without ever mentioning what or who it actually is.

Hmmm, I gave it a try, not sure if I nailed it.

Anytime Ready!

Seasons could be any,
Summer, winter, monsoon or spring,
In celebration or in misery,
Life events could be any,
