FIX YOUR GAZE UPON ME

FIX YOUR GAZE UPON ME

I'D LIKE SOME TIME WITH YOU

FIX YOUR GAZE UPON ME – I AM THE ROCK YOU NEED

Listen my child.

I love you.

I care for you.

I care about every detail of your life.

I know things are not where you want them to be.

I know things are not moving as quickly as you want them to move.

I know you are perplexed.

Listen my child.

No, no…….don’t say anything………Sssshhhhh……..listen.

Take your eyes off of your circumstances and gaze upon me.

Gaze upon Me.

Fix your focus upon Me.

Lay aside your wants, your needs, your desires, your dreams, your wishes, your concerns and fix your gaze upon Me.

Look at Me.

Really look at Me.

For as you fix your gaze upon Me, you will discover that I am really all you need.

Do you not realize that in Me lies the fulfillment of your deepest wants, needs, desires, dreams and wishes?

That in Me lies the answers to your perplexing situations.

That in Me lies the keys to the doors of your future.

That in Me lies perfect peace.

It’s all in Me.

So look away from your circumstances my child.

Look away and fix your gaze upon Me.

For it is in Me that you will find it all.

A PRAYER FOR THE SAFETY OF OUR SCHOOL CHILDREN

A PRAYER FOR THE SAFETY OF OUR SCHOOL CHILDREN

PRAY FOR THE PROTECTION OF OUR CHILDREN

I originally posted this prayer on December 18th, 2012 a few days after a horrific and tragic deadly school massacre in the USA.

I thought I’d post it again now that another school year has started and for various reasons, the safety of their children is once again a concern for parents in many nations.

Be encouraged to not just read the prayer, but to join your faith with other Believers and pray it, not only for your own children if you have children, but for every child the Lord lays upon your heart no matter where they are in the world.

Shalom!

Kim

Dear Heavenly Father,

As our children leave home for school today, cause them to arrive safely.

Assign your warring angels to guard and keep them wherever they are, whoever they are with, and whatever they are doing throughout the day.

Remove any fear from their hearts and replace it with a sense of peace, comfort and Your loving presence.

Help them to maximize and enjoy their educational experience; let not the enemy mar it in any way.

Father by Your grace we refuse to be bound by the spirit of fear, but instead trust You to keep our children safe in Your divine care.

By faith we cover them in the protective blood of Jesus from the crown of their heads to the soles of their feet and stand on Your word that no weapon formed against them shall prosper.

Father we humbly release our children to You.

Watch over them like only You can.

Thank you for bringing them safely home.

In Jesus’ Name, Amen

A BACK TO SCHOOL PRAYER FOR OUR CHILDREN – 2013

A BACK TO SCHOOL PRAYER FOR OUR CHILDREN – 2013

PRAY FOR OUR CHILDREN AS THEY RETURN TO SCHOOL

PRAY FOR OUR CHILDREN AS THEY RETURN TO SCHOOL

I originally posted this prayer/declaration on August 14th, 2010 and re-posted it in 2011 and 2012.

Having made some slight changes, I feel the need to re-post it again this year as a prayer for our children as they return to school.

Be encouraged to not just read the prayer, but to join your faith with other Believers and pray it, not only for your own children if you have children, but for every child the Lord lays upon your heart no matter where they are in the world.

Shalom!

Kim

A Prayer/Declaration as our children, our precious heritage of the Lord return to school:-

In the name of Jesus and by the power of the Holy Spirit, we declare that every assignment of the enemy over our children’s lives is cancelled and that no weapon formed against them shall prosper.

We cover them in the blood of Jesus from the crown of their heads to the soles of their feet and request warring angels of the Lord to encamp around them and to protect them from all harm and danger.

In the name of Jesus and by the power of the Holy Spirit, we cast down every high thing that would try to exalt itself against the knowledge of God that our children possess.

We declare that the Word of God is hidden in their hearts and that it is a lamp unto their feet and a light unto their path, continuously guiding their decisions and ordering their steps wherever they go and whatever they face.

In the name of Jesus and by the power of the Holy Spirit, we declare that our children have a mind to work and that the spirit of excellence rests upon them, influencing their academic performance and behavior.

We declare that they submit to the rules and regulations of their schools and obey the instruction of those in authority over them as long as our children do not violate the Word.

In the name of Jesus and by the power of the Holy Spirit, we declare that our children are highly favored of God and that this divine favor positively affects their relations with their school administrators, teachers and fellow students.

We declare that our children establish friendships with children who positively influence their minds, bodies, souls, and spirits, and encourage and support their academic, social and spiritual development.

In the name of Jesus and by the power of the Holy Spirit, we declare that the Spirit of the living God rests upon our children, making them distinct and different in a positive way.

We declare that by the anointing of God, our children demonstrate godly character and principles—that they are salt and light on their school campuses and that God’s plans and purposes are advanced in and through them.

In our authority as the Body of Christ, we declare these things in accordance with the principles of the Word of God and by faith believe and agree that these things are so to the honor and glory of God in Jesus’ name, Amen.

amazing man! – AMAZING GOD!

amazing man! – AMAZING GOD!

Today when we look at things like the IPad, PET Scan (Positron Emission, Tomography Scan), mega planes like the Airbus A380, mega cruise ships like the Allure of the Seas, mega tall buildings like the Burj Khalifa and electronic game systems like the Wii U, we have to admit that man has created some amazing things, especially in the past 50 years.

I have a question.

For as amazing as these creations are, would you consider them greater than the people who created them?

Absolutely not!

No creation  is ever greater than its creator.

The items mentioned in the first paragraph are undeniably great, but not greater than the humans that created them.

Now, I have another question.

Who created the humans that created the items in paragraph one?

According to Genesis 1:26, 27, God did.

“Then God said, “Let us make man in our image, in our likeness, and let them rule over the fish of the sea and the birds of the air, over the livestock, over all the earth, and over all the creatures that move along the ground.”

So God created man in his own image, in the image of God he created him; male and female he created them.” (NIV)

 Here’s another question.

If God created man who created the great creations in paragraph one, who is ultimately greater, man or God?

Since we have already established that no creation is greater than its creator, the answer must be God!

It is undeniable that man is an amazing creature, but not more amazing than God, his creator.

As humans, we ought to think highly of ourselves because we, unlike anything else God created, are the only ones made in His image and likeness and empowered and instructed to rule or have dominion over all other created things in the earth realm.

However, no matter how amazing and great a creation we are, and no matter how many amazing and great the things we create, we are not greater and will never be greater than God who created us.

Proverbs 3:19 (KJV) tells us:

“The Lord by wisdom hath founded the earth; by understanding hath he established the heavens”.

Our God is so wise that He knew exactly what it would take and how to lay the foundation of the earth, and He knew exactly what it would take and how to establish the heavens – then He did it!

What wisdom and what understanding!

Can any human claim to have done anything of that magnitude?

Years ago, there was a song whose lyrics went like this:

“Can you catch the wind,

Can you make the world spin,

Can you pull the sun down,

Can you make man from the ground,

Oh no, but I know who can,

God can.”

While it is fine to appreciate, applaud and even honor humans for the great things we can do, and have done, let’s keep things in perspective and always remember that God our Father is greater. He is the ultimate creator. There is none like Him.

IPad, PET Scan, Airbus A380, Allure of the Seas, Burj Khalifa, Nintendo WII U– Amazing? – Yes!

BUT NOT MORE AMAZING THAN GOD WHO CREATED THE HUMANS THAT CREATED THEM!

FINDING THE RIGHT BALANCE – A KEY TO OVERCOMING OVERWHELM (PART 2)

FINDING THE RIGHT BALANCE – A KEY TO OVERCOMING OVERWHELM

PART 2

OVERWHELMED? - FINDING THE RIGHT BALANCE WIL HELP

OVERWHELMED? – FINDING THE RIGHT BALANCE WILL HELP

 (Ecclesiastes 3:1-8; Romans 8:14; Luke 14:26)

In each time and season of our lives, we need to seek God’s direction as to where we should be, when we should be there and what we should be doing, and upon receiving this information, to by God’s grace make it a priority to act on it. Such spirit-directed life adjustments will enable us to come to our place of right balance.

Jesus prioritized his whereabouts and tasks according to the timing and will of His Father.  He found His place of right balance by listening to and obeying His Father at all times, in all places and in all things. He never tried to be a people pleaser, nor did He prioritize pleasing Himself.

Like Jesus, our ultimate priority in life should also be to do the will of our heavenly Father as revealed by the Holy Spirit at all times, in all places, and in all things, no matter how “big” or “small” and then we too will experience our right balance.

Please be warned though, that embarking on such a lifestyle is not without a price. As you seek to emulate Christ’s example of obedience, turbulence from others will come.

It may come in the form of opposition, rejection, criticism, expressed anger, expressed hurt, expressed disappointment, being despised, being accused of insensitivity or of “changing”, being the object of gossip and slander, even death, – whatever the form, you can rest assured that turbulence will come.

It came for Jesus as a result of His lifestyle of obedience to our Father, and if we follow His example, it will come for us too.

Some of the turbulence that Jesus experienced as a result of His obedience to our Father’s will was that He was despised, rejected, the brunt of anger, the object of controversy, viewed as a trouble-maker, the religious order of the day was totally against Him and plotted to kill Him, He was called a wine-bibber, accused of being demon possessed, looked down upon for being with those considered “nobodies”, He was mocked, ridiculed, scorned, spit upon and eventually crucified.

Like it did with Jesus, when you make a decision to be in the right place at the right time doing the right thing as determined by God, at some point, turbulence from others will arise.

It will arise because in making this choice, no matter how noble your intentions and righteous your actions in the eyes of the Lord, it is inevitable that some people, whether, family, friends, fellow Believers, associates, co-workers, neighbors, or whomever, will experience or interpret them negatively, and not hesitate to communicate this to you in some way, especially if you are not able to meet or accommodate their expectations, desires, requests, demands or needs.

When this happens, remember that it is all a part of the price of being Spirit led, it is all a part of the price of being a mature son of God, it is all a part of taking up your cross and following after Christ so do not be discouraged.

Know ahead of time that when you embark on this lifestyle, not everyone will accept your decisions and not everyone will like or understand you, especially those who have no experience in living life in this way, and that it’s okay.

Like Jesus, we need to have a mind to endure any turbulence from others that may arise and with the help of the Holy Spirit to not be angered, offended, or distracted by it, for when we view experiencing such turbulence from a Kingdom perspective, it truly is a “small” price to pay considering the resulting benefits of our obedience in this life and in eternity.

As Kingdom Citizens, a key to finding the right balance in our lives is being in the right place at the right time doing the right thing as determined by God.

It’s a God thing. It’s all about Him. It’s all about His will being done in each time, season and situation of our lives, not our will and not anyone else’s.

Today if you find yourself in a place of imbalance, why not pray and ask the Lord to enlighten you about your state and then make a decision to do whatever He says is necessary to achieve what He defines as the right balance for you.

Remember however, this is not a one shot deal. It is a lifestyle and a life-long process and among other things, it will take commitment, effort, determination, “stick ability”, knowing the Word, dying to self, dying to being a “people pleaser”, a whole lot of prayer, a whole lot of help from the Holy Spirit, and maybe some Kleenex (smile!).

This may sound like a lot, but the good news is that based on Jesus’ life, the results of such obedience and balance will be worth it both in this life and the next.

Be encouraged!

“The wind blows where it wishes, and you hear the sound of it, but cannot tell where it comes from and where it goes.
So is everyone who is born of the Spirit.”

“Take it slow and easy.  Do not be hasty, but rather be thorough, and I will lead you through this maze of confusion and chaos into a solid victory, says the Lord.  Be deliberate in your decisions by choosing righteousness, peace and joy in My Spirit.  Pay attention to the checks in your spirit man that require you to stop before you make a mistake in judgment or put yourself in harm’s way.  I am with you to direct and protect you.  Trust Me.”

Romans 14:17 for the kingdom of God is not eating and drinking, but righteousness and peace and joy in the Holy Spirit.

OVERWHELMED? – FINDING THE RIGHT BALANCE WILL HELP

(Ecclesiastes 3:1-8; Romans 8:14; Luke 14:26)

***********

Today we live in an extremely demanding age with a myriad of voices constantly calling out after us. They call out after our mental, emotional, physical, social and spiritual resources, after our money, our attention, our time, and sometimes even after our sense of sanity.

They call out through family, friends, church, employers, co-workers, social organizations, neighbors, television, radio, Internet, cell phones, I Pods, Blackberry’s, newspapers, magazines and the list goes on.

They say, “come here”, “go there”, “buy this”, “eat that”, “dress like this”, “you must have that”, “spend time here”, “never go there”, “call me”, “email me”, “text me”, “visit me”, “give this”, “join us”, “read this”, “listen to me”, “feed me”, “change me”, “do this”, “do that”, “do the next…………..and on and on and on

We are seemingly bombarded with endless demands, and we can not be all things to all people, so the question is:

How do we find the right balance in all of this?

From a Kingdom perspective, I believe that a key to finding the right balance is:

Being in the right place at the right time doing the right thing as determined by God.

Jesus’ life was a perfect demonstration of this. He was always in the right place at the right time doing the right thing as determined by God, our Father, not as determined by His disciples, family, friends, emotions, circumstances, or even crises.

For example, in John chapter 11 when Jesus heard  that Lazarus was extremely sick, He did not drop everything and rush off to heal him, but instead, remained where He was for two more days before leaving to deal with the issue.

If you read the account, in verse 2, the scripture makes it a point to let us know that the Lazarus who was sick was the brother of Mary who had anointed Jesus with the precious ointment and wiped his feet with her hair, in verse 3 it makes it clear that Jesus loved Lazarus, and in verse 5, it makes it clear that he also loved Mary and Martha.

Nevertheless, in spite of the circumstance and who it involved, Jesus did not allow the relationships or emotions to move Him out of divine position or timing.  He got His instructions from God, our Father and simply did as directed.

What do you think you would you have done in this circumstance?

Had Jesus succumbed to the emotion and the pressure of the situation, He would have lost His place of right balance, gotten out of the position and timing of God and aborted the purpose of the event which according to verse 4 of John 11 was, “for the glory of God, that the Son of God might be glorified thereby”.

Have you ever aborted the purpose of a situation because you were not Spirit led?

Jesus’ life was driven by doing His Father’s will. In fact in John 6:38, He says that He came down from heaven “not to do His own will but the will of the one who sent Him”. His life personified right balance because He always sought to obey God our Father at all times no matter the situation, who it involved or the probable consequences.

If we desire to find the right balance in our lives, we need to approach life as Jesus did and have a Spirit driven, not people, emotion, or circumstance driven lifestyle.

In this whole process of finding the right balance, there are two fundamentally important points to take note of:

1) There is no universal state of right balance.

2) Finding the right balance is a very personal God-defined thing.

In other words, what is the right balance for you may not necessarily be the right balance for me and, what is the right balance for me may not necessarily be the right balance for you.

It is important to keep this in mind because it minimizes the temptation to be judgmental about other people’s decisions and it also reminds us that we are each personally responsible for finding the right balance in our own lives and no one else can do it for us.

To be continued………………

Be encouraged!
