gourmet two point oh

I love #promoteyourselfmonday at the GoDogGoCafe website. It’s a lovely community and I get to read all kinds of poems. This one, I had to listen to. Sometimes that puts me off; I find most poems easier to understand when I read them. But this one… From the first guitar notes I was hooked.

I hope you like it too! https://wordslessspoken781842219.blog/2020/11/29/gourmet-two-point-oh/

Cuddle savings account

After all the #ThursdayDoors you’ve seen me write about my book in the making, it’s finally here! And you can buy it for free until Saturday (I don’t know when on Saturday it stops in different time zones).

I have a poem in the making with about saving cauddles, but the sun shines and I’m close to the woods. The poem will have to wait. I hope you’ll get my book. Here’s a picture to entice you, and the link to different stores to make it easy 🙂 Thurday’s doors are at the bottom of this post.

Manifesting

Draw a blank

take markers

colour in blank

frame it

sell it

Repeat

The picture is what I had in mind. But block editor, sigh. So I played another way. Today’s post at octpowrimo.com started with “I drew a blank”. That was enough for me, so I skipped the prompt 😉

Taking is glorious

take solo time
take the space that you deserve
taking moments to yourself
Time for exercise, and alone time
 take self care
  take time
    	    Time for self
    	    taking a break
    	    Taking time out
    	    my own space
   allocating what you already have
    	   taking time off social media
    	    taking rest
    	    taking space taking time
Taking time and taking up space
    	    connecting
    	     take a breath
     solitude
    	     taking a risk
    	       Taking a walk
    	      taking a swim
    	       taking a rest
  	       time
  	       take care
         taking my turn
         take care
        taking my rights
         receiving
        taking time for myself
         taking my money
         taking up spsce
         self-giving sthing
         taking time
  	      take care of myself
       take time out for pleasure
       taking life - a gift
        taking my love
  	     take my truth
  taking my power back
   taking what I need
   taking stance

Take it!

Today’s poems was inspired by one of the lecture at the free online embodiment conference I’m volunteering in at the moment. (Google it if you want to join, I can’t find a link right now, I’m logged in).

In the picture you can see a bit more about the session. It was for people who spend too much energy pleasing others, and not taking enough care of their own needs. Hence this ode to taking, based on the answers partcipants shared. Our first associations with the word “take” had been 95% negative. Then he asked us for positive associations… For me the are pretty in line with our prompt today at #OctPoWriMo:

How do you relax and process your feelings?

Sillyme

Today’s prompt is playful, but I feel very serious. I blame Blurb. They offer 50% discount on my book before October 17th, and for a high quality coffee table book of 30x30cm, that’s a lot. Only trouble was, I didn’t have it in the store yet… I’ve fixed that, and tell you more about it after the poem. But OctPoWriMo day 12 comes first!

For more playfulness visit the #OctPoWriMo page for day 12. I’ll head over there too when I’ve finished all the serious stuff for today. Like how I can get my book to you at this amazing discount.

The offer is valid until the start of October 17th. For a maximum of 5 people. How does it work?

  • You send me a message that you want the book.
  • I check on the Blurb account what they charge as postage for your address (and tax maybe, I haven’t figured out how that differs across countries yet).
  • I’ll message you the total amount, and how you can pay for it (PayPal, Transferwise, bank account).
  • After you’ve sent me the money, I can order the book and have it sent to your address. Expect delivery around October 31th.

October 8: Breaking Boundaries #OctPoWriMo #Writober and #NanoPrep

I love what Maria did with the forms. The Diamante turned mushroom, and the table poem has a sharpness to it that comes both from the breaks and the words. Superb!

Let Your Light Shine by Maria L. Berg 2020

This morning’s theme “Breaking Boundaries” inspired an exciting photo adventure. I looked at things I see every day with fresh perspective.

Poetry prompt Today’s OctPoWriMo prompt is Breaking Boundaries

Forms Diamante or Table poem

I tried both forms .

Kindness and Cruelty

Kindness
comfortable, warm
caring, accepting, giving
door, home . . . zoo, airport
trapping, attacking, emptying
brutal, harsh
Cruelty

Mine looks more like a mushroom than a diamond. I like that.

Tooling up for breaking boundaries

I’ll need scissors to separate sullen skies

Day 8 OctPoWriMo

Prompt: Breaking boundaries

Form: Table poem

Angela, I hope this will be considered a table poem. WordPress was making a mess of it so I had to type it on Word and paste a screenshot here. Loved your art.

(The left column is a poem in itself and so is the right one. Together they form a poem too! So you get three poems today:) )

Doorfies

Regular visitors of #ThursdayDoors, the weekly doorfest created by Norm Frampton, quickly learn a new word: doorfie. It’s when you take a picture of a beautiful door but accidentlily (or not) show up in the picture yourself, through reflection.

The graffiti you see is on the prison door I wrote about last week. I’m supposed to write a poem today, for day 8 of #OctPoWriMo. I’m not sure if I’ll manage, I’m so incredibly exited that the daily prompt post today is written by me (for the first time).

I keep checking the page to see if new, wonderful poems have shown up 🙂 Another huge distraction is the fact that Blurb offered me to order our coffee table book More than meets the I at a gigantic discount: 50% off. I’m torn between letting people know they can order one through me today because it’s the best offer they ever provided. Or come across as a greedy, salesy person by telling everyone they can order it for a fabulous price and that there’s time pressure…

Anyhow, if you happen to want want let me know. I’ll order the books in about 6 hours, to make sure I won’t miss the deal. The print and paper quality of the book are absolutely fabulous, both my mum and me were stunned when we saw the Dutch edition.

#OctPoWriMo Day 8

One of the amazing things about writing a prompt for #OctPoWriMo, is reading the poems that are written today, and wonder if they might be inspired by the prompt. This poem is fabulous!
