Cookie Policy

Last updated: June 25, 2026

This Cookie Policy explains how TimeForge (“we,” “us,” or “our”) uses cookies and similar technologies on timeforge.com and our knowledge base at guides.timeforge.com. It should be read alongside our Privacy Policy.

What are cookies?

Cookies are small text files placed on your device when you visit a website. They’re widely used to make sites work, to make them work more efficiently, and to provide information to the site owners. Some cookies are essential; others help us understand how the site is used.

How we use cookies

We use cookies for two purposes: to keep our website running properly, and to understand how visitors use it so we can improve it. We do not use cookies to build advertising profiles or serve targeted ads, and our analytics are not used to identify you personally.

Types of cookies we use

Strictly necessary cookies (always active) Required for the website to function and load reliably — for example, page caching. They don’t store personal information and aren’t used to track you:

Cookie Provider Purpose Duration
nitroCachedPage TimeForge (NitroPack) Records whether the page was served from cache, to speed up loading Session

Functional cookies Remember choices and settings to improve your experience. These are primarily set for signed-in users (such as site editors) and aren’t used to track visitors across other sites:

Cookie Provider Purpose Duration
wp-settings-*wp-settings-time-* TimeForge (WordPress) Store interface preferences for logged-in users 1 year

Analytics cookies Help us understand how visitors use our site — which pages are useful and where people get stuck — so we can improve it. We use a third-party analytics service (currently Google Analytics) in anonymized form. We run separate analytics for our main website and our knowledge base (guides.timeforge.com); both use cookies in the formats below:

Cookie Provider Purpose Duration
_ga Google Analytics Distinguishes unique visitors 2 years
_ga_* Google Analytics Maintains analytics session state 2 years

We have configured Google Analytics so that IP addresses are not stored and data is not linked to advertising identifiers.

Third-party cookies

Our analytics provider (Google) sets and reads the analytics cookies listed above across both our main website and our knowledge base at guides.timeforge.com. Because these cookies are stored at the timeforge.com domain level, you may see them on either site. While stored under our domain, some usage data is processed by Google as our service provider. We do not authorize that data to be used for advertising.

Advertising

We do not currently use advertising or retargeting cookies. If that ever changes, we will update this policy and our cookie banner before doing so.

Managing your cookies

When you first visit our site, our cookie banner lets you review and manage your preferences. You can change your choices at any time through the banner.

You can also control cookies through your browser settings — most browsers let you block or delete cookies. Note that disabling strictly necessary cookies may affect how the site works. Many browsers and privacy tools (such as ad blockers) will also block analytics cookies automatically.

Changes to this policy

We may update this Cookie Policy from time to time to reflect changes in the cookies we use or for operational, legal, or regulatory reasons. The “Last updated” date above will always show the most recent revision.
