Difficulty: Beginner. I try to provide detailed explanations for anyone who needs them. The detailed instructions are set off a little from the main actions in each step, so if you don't need them, just skim down.
Translatable: Should Work For Any Program With Layer Support and Basic Brush Variance Capabilities.
Hi all, today I'm sharing a tutorial on how to create basic textures using your Photoshop 7/higher. I recorded the creation so you can watch the video with some explanations of the steps. There's a written walk-through as well that you can read if you can't watch the video :) The PSD file is also available for download if you care to leave a feedback on the site. Here's the preview of the texture for this tutorial....
Program: Paint Shop Pro X5, should work in earlier versions.
Difficulty: Intermediate. Assumes basic knowledge of program features and menu locations. (ie: I'm not going to explain where the materials palette is or how to switch to the gradients tab.) I will answer questions if you comment.
Translateable: Theory should work in other programs. I don't know if they'll have the exact features and materials used.
Find it here on my blog. Finished textures are also available in the post.
