Welcome to the Department of Textile Engineering, Green University of Bangladesh (GUB). The Textile Engineering Department of GUB started its journey from 2008. Since its inception, the Department has been playing a dominant role in offering quality education. At present, Department of Textile Engineering of the Green University is a leading department for Textile Engineering education in Bangladesh.

The Department has been offering regular B.Sc. in Textile Engineering courses for HSC pass students and B.Sc. in Textile Engineering courses for Diploma holders. This Department is enriched with highly qualified and experienced faculty members having degrees from home and abroad; and it also has eight well equipped laboratories. A friendly and congenial academic environment prevails in the Department. Green University Textile Club (GUTC) arranges different extra-curricular activities; study tour etc. for the students.

At present more than 80% of our export earnings come from Textile and Apparel sector. Annual growth rate of our Apparel export is more than 15%. As a backward linkage of RMG sector, primary Textile sector including Spinning, Weaving, Knitting and Dyeing sector is also expanding rapidly. As a result there is a huge demand of qualified Textile engineers in the country. In addition to the industrial job opportunity, there is a huge demand of Textile Engineers in buying houses as Merchandiser, Govt. services, Banks, Universities and academic institutions as Faculty members and in research organizations.

The Department has academic collaboration with leading Textile Departments at home and abroad to facilitate student exchange, scholarship, joint research and credit transfer.
