U.S. Citizen Services

Notice

The Department of State’s first priority is the protection of U.S. Citizens overseas. The Consular Section in N’Djamena can provide the following routine services: Passport Services, Consular Report of Birth Abroad, Notarial Services.

Overview

One can become a U.S. Citizen through a variety of means—birth in the United States, birth abroad to a U.S. citizen parent, or through the naturalization process. For all of these, a specific series of legal requirements must be met. At the U.S. Embassy and Consulates in Chad, we can provide certification of U.S. citizenship for eligible individuals born abroad to U.S. citizen parents. We also process Certificates of Loss of Nationality for those U.S. citizens who would like to give up their U.S. citizenship or believe that they have expatriated themselves.

Please schedule an online appointment for American Citizen Services (ACS).

American Citizens can reach the consular section through this number+235-6885-1065 on  Mondays, Wednesdays and Thursdays between 2-3pm.
