Private ACT Tutoring

Superior ACT Prep

The best ACT prep requires a top instructor using the best curriculum. That is exactly what we provide.

1. Career Tutors, not Side-Hustlers

Each of our tutors receives a minimum of 160 hours of training on the SAT®/ACT before meeting with a student. As far as we know, we have the most extensive tutor training program in the U.S.

Our ACT tutors are full-time with a salary and full benefits (health, dental, and vision insurance; 401(k); disability and life insurance; etc). Our rare career tutoring structure ensures that we attract and retain top talent.

We offer three tiers of tutors: Professional, Expert, and Executive. Our Executive tutors, with 10+ years of full-time SAT/ACT tutoring experience, have worked with every kind of student and use that depth of expertise to tailor strategies to your child’s needs.

2. Customized, Evidence-based Curriculum

There is no substitute for the real thing. Summit Prep uses Officially Licensed ACT® Content, including authentic past ACT® tests, to provide our students with the most accurate practice experience.

To keep improving, students need both breadth and depth of content: access to practice all the question types on the ACT and an abundance of questions on each topic. We provide both.

We specialize in private tutoring with a curriculum designed for customization. We only teach and assign the topics that students are missing from their practice tests, which allows us to efficiently eliminate each student’s weaknesses without wasting time and resources on topics a student already knows.

  • 3.Consistent, Stellar Outcomes

One of the greatest compliments we receive is the loyalty of our families. When younger siblings reach their teenage years, parents return to us for their prep as well.

  • Our average student increases 6 points on the ACT. Those who do more prep than our average student have even larger increases, with some increasing 10+ points on the ACT.

Delighted students and parents are our norm, not our exception. We have more 5-star reviews than any other tutoring company in New Jersey, backed by 400+ authentic, public reviews across all review platforms.

4. Risk-Free and Comprehensive

If a tutor-student match isn’t the right fit (rare, but possible), we don’t charge for that session and immediately switch tutors.

We also support students with AP exams, high school entrance exams, K-12 academics, graduate-level tests (GRE, LSAT, MCAT, GMAT), and more.

5. Easy Scheduling & Reliable Support

We offer tutoring both online and in-person at our Short Hills and Bernardsville centers (with abundant, free parking).

Our admin team is available 7 days a week to help families schedule tutoring or mock exams. We aim to serve. If you ask, we’ll do our best to meet your needs.

We are experts at both in-person and online tutoring.

Information About ACT

Understanding the ACT and Why It Matters

For more info on the ACT, check out our blog posts here about the test and how to best take and prep for it.

The ACT (American College Testing) college readiness assessment is a standardized test for college admissions in the United States.

The ACT is designed to measure a student’s preparedness for colleges and universities by testing skills in five core areas: English, Math, Reading, Science (optional), and Writing (optional).

The ACT is a significant determinant in college admission and scholarship decisions.

Whether your child struggles with the fundamentals, the “tricks” and testing strategy, the most advanced topics, or simply a lack of testing confidence, our instructors will identify and amend any areas of weakness and enhance areas of strength.

For information about extended time on the ACT®, whether to apply for it and how to get it, please see our comprehensive blog post about it here: Extended Time on the SAT® and ACT®.
