The custom metal sculpture process is structured to keep things efficient, collaborative, and outcome-focused.
Steve’s path to sculpture includes time as a nuclear propulsion plant technician, Naval Officer, helicopter pilot, and founder of an architectural metal fabrication business. After retiring from military service in 2017, he transitioned full-time into sculpture, combining technical knowledge with a drive for hands-on creative work.
Now based in Lawrence, KS, Steve works out of a fully outfitted studio in the Warehouse Arts District. The shop includes a 2-ton bridge crane, full welding and machining capabilities, and advanced CAD tools for design and planning. His sculpture practice is grounded in function, scale, and a clear understanding of what it takes to turn an idea into a built, lasting piece.
