Have decided to try and start this comm up again. Since it's been so long, and not everyone was very active when I was posting prompts, I want to start with a clean slate in regards to characters.

To be fair to everyone, though, I will be giving you each first-dibs on the characters you currently have in the comm.

If you have any intention of staying, please email splinter.mods@gmail.com and let me know.

If you want to pull out, please email splinter.mods@gmail.com and let me know.

IMPORTANT: If I receive no email from you, it will be assumed that you are withdrawing and your character willl be opened up to the general public, to be given to the first applicant. If you're are removed in this fashion and wish to be re-added you will be required to re-fill out the application form.

The DEADLINE for contacting me will be 11:59pm on March 14th, 2009.

I look forward to hearing from you, and even moreso looking forward to getting the ball rolling again!

I've been noticing a decline in the amount of useful spam going around, while at the same time realizing that I have a backlog of 'word of the day' emails, which got me to pondering making a writing community that had a week or two weeks worth of words of the day as prompts (complete with definitions, even!). It's probably been done, or is being done right now in other forms, but there's lots and lots of words out there, and you can't get any more random than 'word of the day' emails.

But then I thought, why make a new comm, when I had this perfect little gem here?

So, my question to you is this: Would you mind a switch from email spam to a list of single words as prompts? We can most definitely toss in spam prompts as bonus prompts every month or so if you'd like, too. Possibilities abound, my friends. Let's toss some ideas out there.

Hey guys!

After (this wonderful response) from

kingcreevey, I've decided to add a special tag for those that manage to get all the prompts into one fic.

So if you manage to accomplish this particular feat, feel free to use the ("all-prompt" tag) in addition to your usual tag so those who are curious can see who's listed among the ranks of authors who've done it.

Keep up the great writing, folks!

Removing Jack

I'm going to be removing Jack from

splinters_say because he's far too serious and emo at the moment to write fun responses to spam prompts. He's still in

thelyricalmuses and

licenseartistic where he can be as moody as he damned well pleases.

It's been fun, and I'll still be around, because I'm currently writing Peter Petrelli (although he's moody and emo, too...) and am contemplating bringing John Sheppard to the mix. HE will be very well suited to crackfic spam prompts, and I think he will be the best choice :D

kingcreevey.

Awesome, awesome fics which had me giggling like mad as I read them.

Okay, as folks probably know by now, management has changed hands in regards to

splinters_say. To make it easier on everyone, the only thing that's really changing is the fact that prompts will be posted twice a month instead of once a week.

Just a couple of things:

1) If you have any comments, suggestions or ideas on how to improve

splinters_say, please drop an email to splinter.mods@gmail.com. I'm always open to new things, so don't be shy!

2) Please double check the newly updated Character/Writer List.

If your character/name/fandom/pairing is not on this list and should be, please email splinter.mods@gmail.com with the relevant info and it will be added as soon as possible.

3) Make sure all your entries are properly tagged, so we can easily find you when it's time to check up on activity within the group.

4) That being said, if you no longer wish to be a part of Splintered Sayings, then please let me know so I can update the List and take you off.

We'll be starting fresh with new prompts the first week of February, so you all have the next week or so left to slack off!

I'm not overly fond of the River/Jayne pairing, and in no way do I ship them at all.

This fact makes it truly amazing then, that I would see fit to proclaim the awesomeness of this post.
