Education
Knowledge is power, and SORBA is here to empower our organizations to be effective leaders in their communities. We provide a number of in person and virtual training opportunities, as well as our digital resources page full of information and example documents to take our mission to the next level.
SORBA Summit
Our SORBA Summit is the shining star of our educational opportunities. This multiple day event in the spring provides direct training for volunteers through multiple day sessions as well as two days of conference style programming. The goal of our Summits is to empower our members to be a positive force in their communities and help stoke the fire of being a strong advocate for natural surface trails. And the Summit is not just for SORBA members, everyone is invited to take part. Check out our events calendar to see when and where will be next!
SORBA Sessions
Our bi-monthly webinar series, SORBA Sessions, is a way we can share up to date information on best practices to make sure your chapter is operating efficiently and effectively. Held at 7pm EST on the 2nd Monday of every other month we have partners across SORBA share the lessons they have learned along the way. Can’t make it live? We record all of our SORBA sessions and put them on YouTube to be viewed for free. To the left are some of our most recent SORBA Sessions.
Additional Training
We partner with leaders in the trail industry to provide training for our members. SORBA regularly hosts classes like Trail Crew Leadership, USDA Forest Service Chainsaw Certification, Wilderness First Aid, and more. Visit our events calendar to see what training opportunities are coming soon.
And if you are looking to further develop your skills we suggest contacting some of the trail schools in our area and other national organizations. Below is a list of recommended trail schools and organizations to support your growth.
