Your Life Back in Just 3 Hours Tattooing Areolas and Nipples Procedure
The Areola Restoration Procedure is an advanced permanent makeup procedure to correct the color, size and shape of the nipple. This procedure is often considered the last step after major breast related surgeries including, breast reduction, mastectomies, breast reconstruction, and breast implants. Such procedures often result in imperfections in the areola or a complete removal of the nipple. This procedure gives women, and men, the choice of shape, size and color of the areola and recreates perfectly symmetrical and naturally colored nipples.
For patients who have had their nipple removed through surgery, this procedures uses pigments and tints, to create an illusion of nipple protrusion with a realistic areola on a breast mound without additional the surgery. We can achieve a closer color match on a grafted areola, create symmetry, and diffuse the circular scar.
This procedure is also beneficial to clients who simply have irregular or fading areolas, or prefer larger areolas following breast augmentation. This procedure is also available to men who wish to enhance the appearance of their areolas due to fading, or to increase their size.
- Micropigmentation / Medical Tattooing: The process of implanting specialized pigments into the skin to create a permanent or cosmetic effect

- Areola Repigmentation: The restoration of pigment to the areola, often lost or altered during breast cancer treatment.
- Nipple-Areola Complex (NAC): The medical term for the nipple and the pigmented area of skin surrounding it.
- Scar Camouflage: The use of tattooing to blend surgical scars with the surrounding skin, improving overall cosmetic appearance.

Color Selection For The Areola Restoration Procedure
As with all of our permanent makeup procedures, color selection is a critical step. Color selection requires an artistic eye that combines proper technique with years of field experience. Each individual’s natural skin tones are evaluated, as well as the natural pigmentations of the existing areolas or pictures of the areolas before surgery. Within weeks of the procedure, the color will lighten and soften as skin heals over the pigmented area.
The Areola Procedure
At each location, this procedure is performed in a sterile surgical environment. The clients comfort and safety is always a priority. Each procedure starts with a consultation. The purpose of the consultation is to understand the each individuals objectives and to evaluate each patient’s current condition. If breast surgery or reconstruction had been performed, the existing scars will be closely evaluated to ensure that they are mature enough prior to applying pigmentation. This is critical in reducing the risk of infection and improve color retention. It is also recommended that each patient consults with their surgeon to determine their readiness for this procedure.
Once the patient is ready to have the pigment applied, the area is numbed with an anesthetic cream to make it as comfortable as possible.
Once the pigment is applied the main healing time may take 5-7 days with the most uncomfortable sensations in the first 24 hours. You may have ongoing flaking and a tight feeling to the skin for 2-3 weeks. Each patient will receive detailed aftercare instructions for best healed results.
Q: How long does each session take?
A: A typical session takes between 1 and 2 hours. It all depends on the area being treated.
Q: How many sessions are required?
A: Clients could require 2 sessions to achieve desired results; however some clients are happy with their results after just 1 session, but to guarantee that it will last for a long time, we clearly advise the client to come for a touch up appointment

A: It typically takes 4-6 weeks for complete healing. However it may take longer for most individuals.

Over the next 4 – 12 weeks the redness will subside and the areas that were treated will go through a variety of shades of red, to dark brown and gradually back to light colored until your skin heals. Remember to carefully follow all aftercare instructions we provided. This is a process so please be patient and trust the process. It is completely normal for areas to be darker for several weeks before they subside and get light again.

WHAT TO EXPECT AFTER THE PROCEDURE (HEALING AND CARE)
Typically, the healing process takes about four weeks, after which additional sessions may be required to achieve the desired long-term results. Areola/nipples pigmentation treatment has been known to generate quick and significant improvements, with a 50-100% improvement visible after the first session. However, it is essential to discuss with your technician to determine the appropriate number of sessions needed (one or two treatments)
The best part about areolas/nipples treatments is that it ensures the pigment matches the skin tone (same and before surgeries and cancer treatments) and does not fade over time, resulting in an improved appearance of real looking breasts to increased confidence.
The success of areolas/nipples coloring treatment depends greatly on its aftercare, making it crucial to take the instructions seriously and follow them diligently. Here are the basic rules of post procedure aftercare:
– Wait at least 12 hours before taking a shower, and use a fragrance-free cleanser or bar soap (Dial or Ivory) when you do.
– Avoid taking Advil or other anti-inflammatory medication for 24 hours after your procedure.
– Refrain from wearing tight clothing for 2-3 days. Stay home using clean cotton based lose tshirts and don´t wear a bra if possible. Let it breath!
– Apply aftercare ointment (Aquaphor) twice daily for the first 14 days or as needed to keep the area hydrated. After that, we recommend using Cerave or coconut oil (if you prefer a natural option).
– Do not engage in activities that may cause sweating for eight full days. This includes going to the gym or working out.
– Avoid tanning, pools, beaches, hot tubs, and direct sun exposure for at least 30 days.
– Do not use creams, antibiotics, or ointments until fully healed.
– Swelling, tightness, and redness are normal for the first five days.
– The treated area may become dry and flaky and possibly develop a small amount of scabbing. Do not pick at it, and reapply aftercare ointment as needed.
– Applying a balm or calming gel (like aloe vera) begins on day 14 and continues until your next treatment or up to 8 weeks.
When the treated area is exposed to the sun, use sunscreen.
