Stated in the previous post:

Taraban’s Equivalency: Attention / Validation is to women what Sex is to men, and these reinforcements (a la operant conditioning) constitute the primary sociosexual currency within the economic trade model of intersexual dynamics.

Taraban’s Equivalency constitutes a new paradigm of sociosexual parity between the sexes.

Let me explain.

Intro

In the last two posts, Sex and Attention: The Most Reinforcing Good (2026/2/2) and Gender Predation of Attention and Sex (2026/2/4), I covered two recent RP 2.0 video talks from Dr. Orion Taraban and Liam DeBoer, respectively, that present current sociosexual dynamics from an economic viewpoint.

Between these two videos, there’s a lot to unpack.

DeBoer and Taraban make their ideas very clear in their videos, but when I copied the transcripts and started picking them apart, I found their arguments (1) make many of the same assumptions and observations, and (2) contain many assumptions and contextual nuances that are not well stated.  So this and the next few posts extrapolate the full breakdown of their assertions, assumptions, contextual factors, and the implications thereof.

In this post, I’ll summarize and compare their main arguments.

Here, I’ll cover a groundbreaking video from Liam DeBoer at Blendr News which compares male and female social pathologies within a sociosexual paradigm that he calls “Gender Predation”.

Blendr News (Liam DeBoer): The Gender Predation Paradigm (2025/12/3)

It used to be that moralizers panicked over the immoral and manipulative nature of PUA Game tactics, but in comparison to Gender Predation, Game seems like child’s play. We, as a culture, are no longer playing Games.

The remainder of this post contains:

  1. A description of Gender Predation that appeared in a Blendr News Substack article posted a day before the video.
  2. A transcript of the above video.

I’ll break this down in several upcoming posts.

One of the main reasons we keep writing posts and comments on blogs over the years is because it’s fun talking to other men. Another is that it keeps our thinking and writing sharp. Yet another is keeping ourselves from repeating the mistakes we’ve made. Yet another is that younger men might learn something from our experiences.

It’s an absolute societal tragedy that men and women aren’t getting and staying together. Men have to learn to be happy alone first. Many of us older men didn’t understand this when we were younger. We could not, or did not. We might have chosen better or worse. Or sooner. We don’t know.

The bible is described as the sword of truth (2 Corinthians 6:7; Ephesians 6:17; Hebrews 4:12). Christians know it is a weapon of spiritual warfare.

But this concept is not limited to the Christian perspective; it is also true from a morally inverted perspective, except it inspires fear in the enemy rather than confidence.

In Weaponizing (2024/7/29), I mentioned a few articles and research papers about how stuff is ‘weaponized’.  The colloquial meaning of ‘weaponize’ is to exploit what is, in many cases, presumed to be an ideology, for the purpose of attacking a person or group, or for spreading discord.

I concluded that whenever this word is used (e.g. in cultural media) it usually conveys the viewpoint that one finds themselves at the brunt end of an unassailable truth, and so reverts to vituperative defamation of their opponents’ motives in response.

From a Christian perspective, all these accusations and objections are yelps of pain that indicate the sword of truth has found its mark on yet another so called “victim”.

Since then, I’ve found several appearances of ‘weaponizing’. This post will cover one of interest.

What is the overall impact of a man’s teaching, despite his credentials?

In a previous post, Tubal Cain told us about a young married Protestant pastor who converted to Orthodoxy, but was deterred from pursuing the Orthodox priesthood because his wife didn’t want to be married to an Orthodox priest and filed for No Fault divorce. This threat is potent because divorce disqualifies a man from a leadership position in the church.

“His wife recently filed for divorce because of her husband’s conversion process from Southern Baptist to Eastern Orthodox. He’s a graduate of Midwestern Baptist Theological Seminary, with an M.Div. Sadly, his desire to attend Orthodox distance seminary and become a priest has been hampered due to a No Fault divorce he didn’t want nor ask for. He is maintaining frame, and will be completing a 1 year catechism, and will be baptized, chrismated, tonsured, and received into the church soon.”

Tubal Cain also spoke about a young married man whose wife stepped out because he intended to convert to Orthodoxy.

“Also, I’ve seen this same ploy played out before with a young married man with children whose evangelical wife threatened filing no-fault divorce when he left Vineyard Fellowship and began catechism at our parish. He subsequently left due to this.

Weaponized No Fault divorce is certainly on most men’s radar, and for more often unbiblical and willy-nilly reasons cited.

Another one of the things he’s shared with me is that things really went south when his wife started listening to Gavin Ortlund. His words: “Thanks, Gavin Ortlund, for breaking up our family”.”

“Do you know of this guy, and curious if you’ve written about him?  I’d be interested to get your twist and analysis on the situation.

He’s a Reformed Baptist apologist, seems to take things out of context, appeals to emotions, attacks Roman Catholics and Eastern Orthodox alike…

Personally, I find him unsettling, and don’t listen to him.”

It is noteworthy that this man pinpointed the teachings of Gavin Ortlund as a contributing factor to his divorce.

So let’s take a closer look at Gavin Ortlund.

The Pastor and His Wife as a Model of the Church

In the last few posts, I’ve taken a nuanced perspective in considering that American Evangelical Protestant (AEP) church leaders (AKA “Big Eva” pastors) may be specifically ‘targeted’ (before marriage) and ‘controlled’ (after marriage) by specious women who are motivated by attention, control, and status more than serving her husband, the church, or the Lord. In support of this view, one post spells out some of the Puppet Pulpit Strings that are common to AEP churches, and questions whether these are appropriate or helpful.

This problem simply doesn’t exist in ecclesiastical churches, i.e. Catholic and Orthodox, because there is a well-established traditional patriarchal order that does NOT depend on the charisma or social skill of the clergy — nor the V power and/or social acumen of their wives.

This post collates a few descriptions, insights, and well-informed comments under the last few posts that have expanded our understanding of the Pulpit Strings to provide us with a current, independent lens to look at this issue.

In the previous post, the 2 situations of divorce that Tubal Cain mentioned are both examples in which the wife was clearly at fault. Here’s another true anecdote in which the husband / pastor was more or less at fault, catalyzed by his wife’s incapability of fulfilling marital duties (i.e., normal sexual relations). I’ll call this Case Study C.
