Wasp En’Garde

Amongst the warrior insects there’s none quite like the Waspengarde. With long pointed rapier that serves as both an arm and weapon they adopt an unusual means of combat that loosely resembles the art of fencing.

With quick near unpredictable movements aided by their perpetual state of hovering above ground, they out maneuverer the blows of their opponent. Through the use of their stings they deflect and parry their opponent’s blows before going in for the decisive strike.

Whatever you do do not mistake the graceful dancelike movements of these overgrown bugs as that of an honourable fighter who seeks only a fair dual. No, to these merciless beings the means to victory far out way the methods in which it is achieved.

And lastly we have a training dummy to help new recruits practice their sword swings.

Fencing Wasps

Oversized wasps with a finesse for combat. With rapier like stingers they strike at any foe who dares to cross their paths. With quick tempers, it is advised to steer clear of these overgrown bugs for their blade like stinger will do more than just sting.

In addition we have a friendly dummy; he may be lacking as far as holding a conversation goes but makes up for it when it comes to holding up against repeated blows.

Foretelling Beetles

Used to be seen as a menace in the way they’d rob the orbs off mystics and oracles alike, often interfering in a divine reading, these beetles are now seen in a different light.

Almost like reading the stars, many mystics and oracles now take to observing the peculiar roundabout flight patterns of the ‘Scry Beetle’ as there ways of perceiving destiny. Oddly enough this practice has been found to be more accurate than a more traditional reading. It’s almost as if these bugs themselves are being influenced by the divining energies of their orbs.

However one thinks of this bizarre act of divination, there is one fact all can acknowledge, any who attempt to pry an orb from the grasp of a Scry Beetle will be met with an extreme act of relentless aggression that persists even after leaving their sight. Its as if they know even where you live, able to locate your position to pinpoint accuracy with merciless vengeance.

Orb Thieves

A beetle reminiscent of a scarab with a peculiar habit of grabbing the glass orbs used by mystics.

Many wonder if this behaviour is due to an instinctual response to the magical properties of such ‘crystal balls’, or simply because they like to carry shiny round objects.

Finally we have a new Winged Serpent variation based loosely on Egyptian mythology.

Wanderer of the Leaf

As a colony driven species, ant folk are very rarely seen away from their hive. A few however are occasionally seen to wander further from home than normal.

Whilst non truly understand why such individuals would break from the safety of the colony, those that do are often amongst the strongest of warriors. Their skills honed by many a solo trial against foes far stronger and more adept at single combat than themselves.

Perhaps this expertise in their craft honed through hardship is the reason these lone wandering bugs set off in the first place. For, those that do return home often become royal guards, their sole purpose to protect the hive mother.

Centipede Stampede

Nothing strikes terror in the hearts of city watchmen than the dreaded sound of feet heavily stomping the ground echoing across the empty plains. Its an attack, a sign that the enemy will soon be upon them. But a mere horde of orcs is nothing compared to the truest terror of the night…

It starts with a gentle ‘pitter-patter’, barely audible over the eerie silence. Then it grows steadily louder and louder, until all that can be heard is that of many sharp somethings piercing hard ground, much like a symphony of mining pick each striking one after another in a quick yet endless rhythm.

The ground begins to shake, the open plains rapidly turn black as if the moon’s gentle light has been chased away.

It has come, far worse than any horde, far worse than a swarm of oversized rats. It is a stampede… Not of cattle but bugs. Many, many-legged bugs. Humongous and ever so hungry. With their sharp feet even capable of penetrating hard stone, no wall can stop them for they can climb the steepest of cliffs…

The Centipedes are here!

Crawly Creepy

The crawliest of all insects, even the mightiest of adventures are known to squirm when these many legged bugs crawl along their skin. Especially when we are talking 8′ long centipedes capable of crushing bones with their thick carapace.

To make matters worse for the bug haters out there: A mad scientist has been researching how to make his own mechanical versions of these massively long crawlers with many many legs.

Tomb Protectors

Mysterious insect-like creatures, only ever found ‘guarding’ tombs of the greatest kings and lords from ancient times. They are said to be the last blade to stand over those left in eternal slumber. Many question the presence of these deathly omens; yet none question the fate of any unlucky enough to intrude upon any tomb inhabited by such a merciless monster.
