The first step to follow is to decide whether you want to set your target for your 10K time to 40, 50, or 60 minutes. Once you're clear about that, you'll move ahead to the appropriate training plan.

The 60-minute target is for people who've never done a 10K in that amount of time before. The plan includes nine weeks of training to complete step by step, day by day, to get to your challenge. RunTen is designed such that if you follow all the instructions you should be able to meet your goal with no problems. In the case of the 50-minute target, you've got an eight-week plan, and for the 40-minute target it will be six more intense weeks.
