Darakht-e Danesh Academi is our “Knowledge Tree” of online educational resources for Afghans.

The Branches of our Knowledge Tree

The Academi grows through three online branches: a Library, Courses, and a Classroom. Together, these programs reconnect thousands of Afghans with quality education.

The branches of our Darakht-e-Danesh Academi:

DD Courses

Our asynchronous course platform that allows Afghans to take full courses at their own pace. A variety of subjects are offered in three languages: Dari, Pashto, and English. We are expanding our courses to meet the needs of Afghans, including new professional development courses for displaced Afghans.

DD Library

Our online educational resource collection consisting of over 8,500 resources in 10 languages. An average of 50,000 resources are downloaded from our library by Afghans each month including: books for all ages, lesson plans, videos, and more. Our library is free and open to all.

DD Classroom

Our online high school for Afghan students that provides graduates with an internationally recognized high school diploma. DD Classroom is accredited in Canada and reconnects Afghan youth — particularly female youth — with quality education, restores hope, and creates opportunities for higher education. The platform also hosts third parties who offer live teaching of university courses, continuing education, and more.

Digital Learning Centres

To ensure Afghans that have fled to neighboring countries have ongoing access to education, Right to Learn Afghanistan works with local partners to recruit eligible students and deliver a high quality secondary education to students. The physical DLC in Turkey is a classroom-like space with a computer lab and community library that allows Afghans to continue learning with DD Academi resources and an on-site facilitator.

“For Afghan girls, online education offers a vital pathway to learning, one that is accessible and enriching…

I am grateful for the chance to pursue my dreams.”
