“A Dial-Done Shirt”
“Grey Dawn”
grey dawn, cold front breeze,
but we are promised no rain:
water tomorrow?
“C’mon, I Dares Ya!”
Surround-sound thunder –
I’ll sit outside to tempt Thor
and maybe get rain!
“in reply to b.c. jewett post – 885”
garden loves the rain
my knuckles, et al., do not!
shudda used a board!
“Broken ‘Promise’ Of Rain”
Rain-promise, breeze flirts
through oaks, cypress, palmetto –
but clouds move too fast!
“Can You Sea My Geography?”
see geography
in an alley after rain:
chain of lakes and streams!
“Come Pee On Me (and my garden)!”
Bustin’ up some big
cumulonimbus above:
come pee on my yard!
“Rain On The Way?”
Radar sweep shows me
an angry red wolf* stalking
Central Florida!
*(originally typed “world,” vice wolf. Maybe a more vivid choice, but I kinda like “world” as well. “Highlands,” too, did not make the five-count final line, sadly.)
“But Still No Acrid Ozone”
Small cool breezes break
the Summer stillness and say,
‘Mebbe rain comes soon.’
