Lizzie Gaisman

Chief Executive Officer

Lizzie combines experience from the charity sector, strategy consulting and finance. She began her career at Great Ormond Street Hospital Charity, followed by many years in consultancy at Oliver Wyman and McKinsey & Company. Prior to becoming CEO of The Richmond Project, she worked for JPMorganChase in consumer banking.

Lizzie is a graduate of Harvard Business School and Oxford University. Outside of work she is Chair of Governors at a secondary school in south London, where she lives with her husband and three children.

Bodil Isaksen

Chief Programmes Officer

Bodil was a founding teacher and Head of Maths at the transformational Michaela Community School and later founding Programme Director at Unlocked Graduates, bringing talented graduates to work in prisons. She has also led the team at Dr Frost Maths, a widely used ed tech platform for teaching and learning mathematics. Bodil is governor of the primary cluster board at Advantage Schools multi-academy trust.

Barry Shine

Head of Finance and Compliance

Barry blends deep commercial expertise in the telecommunications sector with significant charity-sector leadership as a Finance Director. His telecoms career took him overseas, where he contributed to both established organisations and early-stage ventures, including a telecoms start-up in Australia.
He has a long-standing commitment to community service, having served as a school governor at two schools—one as Chair of Governors—and as Treasurer and Trustee for a youth charity. He is a Fellow of the Chartered Institute of Management Accountants.

Gemma Elnaugh

Operations Manager

Gemma has extensive experience across a variety of roles in the charity, design and business sectors. Most recently, she’s worked with charities dedicated to improving access to education, supporting families, and promoting social inclusion. Her roles have involved managing large scale events, coordinating projects, and ensuring services reach those who face barriers to opportunity. Having studied at the University of the Arts, she loves to incorporate creativity into her work whenever she can.

Fran Southwood

Strategic Engagement Associate

Fran began her career at McKinsey & Company in London, where she developed a specialism in private capital, focusing on strategy and transaction diligence. Alongside her client work, she served as Social Responsibility co-ordinator for the UK offices. She has also spent time as a Parliamentary Assistant, conducting research on relevant policy issues and supporting constituency work.

Fran is a graduate of Magdalene College, Cambridge, where she read English and graduated with a First Class degree, winning academic prizes. Outside of work, she is an accomplished pianist and Associate of the Royal Schools of Music.

Akshata Murty

(Co-Chair)

Akshata Murty is passionate about education and the positive effects it has on young people. During her time living in Downing Street, she launched ‘Lessons at 10’. This initiative provided children from schools across the United Kingdom with a unique opportunity to go behind the famous black door of Number 10 and learn important life lessons from special guests and industry experts.

Rishi Sunak

(Co-Chair)

Rishi Sunak served as Prime Minister of the United Kingdom from 2022 to 2024 and as Chancellor of the Exchequer from 2020 to 2022. While Prime Minister, he pledged to overhaul secondary school education by introducing maths lessons to 18 and as Chancellor introduced the Multiply programme to improve adult numeracy skills. Rishi Sunak is also the MP for Richmond and Northallerton.

Elizabeth Perelman

Elizabeth brings over a decade of senior experience in government and public service. She has served as Principal Private Secretary to both the Prime Minister and Chancellor, Director of the No.10 Policy Unit, and held senior roles across HM Treasury, the Cabinet Office and UK Government Investments. Currently, she is Chief Executive Officer of the Office of Rishi Sunak and Akshata Murty. Elizabeth began her career in the private sector, working in private equity and corporate finance advisory at Morgan Stanley. She is passionate about unlocking opportunity through education and is committed to driving cultural change around numeracy across the UK.

Eleanor Shawcross-Wolfson

Eleanor has spent the past two decades working across public policy, philanthropy, and strategy consulting. She began her career at the Boston Consulting Group before moving into public policy, where she held senior roles at HM Treasury and the Department for Work and Pensions, and later served as Head of the No.10 Policy Unit. Eleanor now sits as a Conservative peer in the House of Lords. Outside of Westminster, Eleanor has experience working with Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation and the Blavatnik School of Government at the University of Oxford. Eleanor’s voluntary work is focused on children’s charities, having previously served as a trustee of BookTrust and the Winnicott Foundation, and as a governor at her local school.
