Note that there are different passwords when logging in to the device.

Note
|
From the RevPi Bookworm Image (08/2025), after 3 failed login attempts, access is locked for 10 minutes. |
The Device Password #
The device password can be found on the sticker on the side of the housing of the RevPi. When you log in for the first time, you are asked to create your own password. You can use Cockpit to change the password for the user pi or create additional accounts.
The device password is generated based on the serial number of the Trusted Platform Module (TPM). If the file etc/revpi/factory-reset is not found during the boot process, revpi-serial.c regenerates the device password based on the unique serial number of the TPM.

Caution
|
▷ Change the device password after the first login to prevent unauthorized access. ▷ Use a strong password. |
The Default Password #
After a new installation, the first login is with user pi and the default password raspberry.
This is followed by the initial device setup. Only then can you log in to the RevPi with the pi user and the device password (see sticker).
