Weekly Soundtrack: 10/22

It’s that time again, dear readers.

No, it’s not time for the Wheel of Morality (although it’s never a bad time for an Animaniacs reference). It’s time for my weekly soundtrack. There’s no theme or anything this week. Just random songs. Hope you enjoy them. On with the show….

Pity for those who don’t need it

There are plenty of people who deserve to have others feel bad for them. Some don’t. There’s one person I thought of today that I feel bad for, even though he doesn’t really need me to feel bad for him.

The man I’m referring to is Dave Grohl. As front man for the Foo Fighters, he’s had a great career. They’ve had many hits and played many sold out shows. Many would kill to have his Foo Fighters career, and I may be the only person on the planet who feels bad for the guy.

Dave Grohl started off his career as the drummer in Nirvana. Nirvana is considered one of the best bands of all time. The Foo Fighters, while good, are not one of the best bands of all time. I know that the only reason he isn’t in Nirvana is because of the tragic death of Kurt Cobain, so it’s not his fault he’s no longer in the band.

The reason I feel bad for him is this: No matter what he’s done with his current band, and what they may do in the future, it will never be anywhere near what he accomplished in Nirvana. Sorry, Dave. You peaked 20 years ago.
