Dinsdag 26 november om 12:00 uur houdt LGBT Asylum Support de manifestatie #NietGayGenoeg 2.0 op de Hofplaats in hartje Den Haag. Samen met vele LHBTI-asielzoekers en sympathisanten bieden zij dan de petitie #NietGayGenoeg 2.0 aan aan de Tweede Kamer Commissie Justitie en Veiligheid.

Waarom de petitie?
Ankie Broekers-Knol, staatssecretaris Justitie en Veiligheid, had beloofd dat de werkinstructie waarmee LHBTI-asielzoekers beoordeeld worden, veranderd zou worden. Maar in de praktijk ziet LGBT Asylum Support dat de IND en zelfs rechters LHBTI-asielzoekers nog steeds afwijzen op hun bewustwordingsproces en zelfacceptatie. De werkinstructie lijkt dus tegen alle beloften in, helemaal niet veranderd. Dat is onacceptabel!

*The Hague 26-11: Manifestation #NotGayEnough*

On Tuesday, November 26 at 12:00, LGBT Asylum Support will hold the manifestation #NietGayGenoeg 2.0 at the Hofplaats in the city centre of The Hague. Together with many LGBTI asylum seekers and sympathisers, they’ll offer the petition #NietGayGenoeg 2.0 to the House of Representatives Committee on Justice and Security.

Why the petition?
Ankie Broekers-Knol, State Secretary for Justice and Security, had promised that the work instructions for assessing LGBTI asylum seekers would be changed. But in practice, LGBT Asylum Support sees that the IND and even judges still reject LGBTI asylum seekers on their awareness process and self-acceptance. The work instruction therefore seems to be contrary to all promises, not changed at all. That is unacceptable!
