Persson Construction
About Us
When Chris Persson walks into a space, he doesn’t see what’s there. He sees what could be there. That instinct, paired with decades of hands-on building experience and a heritage of Swedish craftsmanship, is what makes Persson Construction different.
Chris started this company in 2006 with one clear conviction: homeowners deserve a builder they can trust. No surprises, no runaround, no builder-grade shortcuts. Just honest work, open books, and a team that treats your home the way they’d treat their own.
Based in Greenland, NH, we serve homeowners throughout the Seacoast, including Portsmouth, Rye, North Hampton, and beyond, on projects ranging from kitchen and bathroom remodels to full home additions and whole-house renovations.
Most contractors make the same promises. The difference is in what happens after the contract is signed. Here’s where we put our energy.
Christian Persson is a fourth-generation carpenter. He didn’t just learn the trade, he grew up in it, side by side with his father, learning to see potential in a space before a single wall goes up.
That instinct for detail isn’t something you can teach in a classroom. When Chris walks through your home, he’s thinking about what it could become.
We use an open-book pricing model called Cost Plus. That means you see exactly where your money goes: labor, materials, subcontractors, all of it.
You’ll have 24/7 access to your project in Buildertrend, with daily logs, selections tracking, and real-time updates. We believe an informed homeowner is a confident one.
Most of the stress in a remodel comes from decisions made too late. That’s why we spend serious time in the planning phase before a single nail is driven.
Our Project Development Agreement includes a Trade Day where subcontractors walk your home before the contract is signed, so the number you say yes to is the number that gets built.

To transform homes and the experience of building them, through transparency, craftsmanship, and genuine partnership. We believe the best renovation is one where the homeowner never has to wonder what’s happening or why.
Every project runs on open-book pricing. You get access to costs, schedules, and daily progress through Buildertrend, our real-time project management platform, so you're never left guessing.
We refuse to use builder-grade materials. Our team carries a standard of quality that's been passed down through generations: traditional techniques, premium materials, and workmanship that's built to last.
We start with your vision, then bring our experience to strengthen it. Every decision, from design to materials to timeline, is made together. You're not handing off a project; you're building with us.
We set expectations clearly and hold ourselves to them. Detailed scopes of work, two-week construction forecasts, and weekly updates mean the plan is always visible and the team is always responsible.
Clean job sites. Clear communication. A crew that shows up, follows through, and treats your home and your family's routine with real consideration.
I asked my husband to sit down and write this section. Instead, we ended up with a plan for a kitchen renovation in our own house. I didn’t even know we needed a kitchen renovation.
The thing about Chris is that he is really good at envisioning what isn’t there yet. He refuses to rely on cookie-cutter designs. He looks at a space, identifies what doesn’t work, and creates a plan to fix it.
He works tirelessly to get things right. His dad was the same way. Swedish heritage runs deep in this family, and so does a dedication to building approaches that last for generations. You will not find builder-grade materials on a Persson Construction job site.
A cherished client once told Chris that his company helps to put the heart in a home. I could not say it better if I tried. (And I did try.)
We learned during COVID that home is the most important place on earth. Creating spaces to enjoy with your loved ones isn’t just a renovation; it’s essential. Chris doesn’t just build structures. He builds trust, relationships, and memories.
If you’re ready to start your journey, he’s ready to help you every step of the way.

Our Process
Plan. Price. Build. Every project follows the same proven path — here's what that looks like.
It starts with a real conversation, not a sales pitch. We'll talk through your goals, how you plan to use the space, your budget, and your timeline. The goal is simple alignment. If the project and our process make sense for both sides, we'll walk you through the next steps and introduce our Project Development Agreement.
This is where we do the work that protects you later. Once the PDA is signed, we schedule a Trade Day, a coordinated on-site meeting where we bring our key subcontractors to walk your home together. They identify constraints early, validate design assumptions, and build real, trade-backed pricing. We also refine layouts, review finish options, separate base scope from upgrades, and pressure-test everything against your budget.
With planning complete and scope aligned, we assemble a detailed construction proposal with every allowance and alternate clearly defined. Your project is then fully built out in Buildertrend, where contracts are signed digitally, schedules and selections are tracked, and all communication stays organized and on the record.
Construction begins with clarity because we earned it in the planning phase. You'll get daily logs, progress photos, weekly updates, and a two-week look-ahead schedule so you always know what's happening in your home. Once finishes are locked in, we post a jobsite finish board with QR codes so every trade on site is always referencing your approved selections.
We don't disappear at the finish line. We walk the project with you, work through the punch list, complete all final documentation, and close everything out cleanly. The project isn't done until you say it is.
