Fibbing Friday on Good Friday 2026

Hello and welcome to Fibbing Friday where I’m inviting you to be outrageous, silly, cheeky, or whatever takes your fancy (as long as you keep it family friendly). Fib your socks off when answering the ten questions set below but remember, truth is not an option, whereas having fun is.
You can join in by writing a post with your answers and tag it #FibbingFriday.
If you use WordPress, pingbacks are enabled but aren’t always working so double up and leave a link to your post in the comments as well for others to read. Also have a read of other bloggers posts if you can spare the time as some of them are terrific.
Bear in mind though that pingbacks and comments are approved manually, so don’t be surprised if the link doesn’t show immediately as I may be late accessing my blog.

Maggie is blogging again and restarted her Tranquil Thursday series.

Maggie says

Me time is self-care. We all need self-care. Perhaps it feels selfish when there is so much world that needs but I have come to realize I cannot heal the world.

How do you manage taking care of yourself in times like these? Continue reading

Wakey Wakey

Daily writing prompt
What are your morning rituals? What does the first hour of your day look like?

The first hour of my day is usually dark.
Maya will get us up for a wee around 4.30, then we go back to bed and hopefully fall asleep relatively quickly.
Take Two starts around 6.15, usually still a bit on the dark side, though that may change soon since the clocks went forward this past weekend.
Morning ritual is to send text to neighbour who lives on her own to make sure she’s OK.
Next is get up, bathroom business, get dressed, set out dog meal, water and treats for the day, have breakfast, walk dog.

Pretty dull huh?

Retro Tuesday on Wednesday 4-1-2026

I remember the Sunday Photo Prompt and also taking part with this particular photo as per Athling2001’s post today.
If nothing else, I am very predictable when it comes to dogs, and this piece of fiction is a perfect example.

Esther’s Writing Prompt: 1st April 2026

Esther Chilton is our host and you can join in HERE.

Our prompt word this week is

BOARD

We have not had a TV since 2007, and when we sold the cottage in 2014 and bought the boat, practically everything we owned was given to charity.
This included not only furniture, books, CDs and DVDs, but board games.
So, we made our own.

Fandango’s Story Starter #240

At midnight, the abandoned amusement park came alive.
It was a gathering of the lost and the inbetween, restless souls, forever drifting.
Some were angry, others confused and uncertain, seeking answers to questions that should have been asked.
Their depleted world had been desecrated in a single flash of arrogance, and these were the echoes of mankind before lunacy and greed turned it on its head.

Written for Fandango’s Story Starter 31st March 2026.

Simply 6 Minutes: 31st March 2026

Christine of Stine Writing is our host and you can find out more HERE

This is an AI-generated picture of two knights in full body armor hugging outside a medieval temple.

They were brothers, neither wishing to hurt the other, yet they had been drawn against each other in combat.
They stood together, side by side, then did the unthinkable.
Turning to each other, they embraced.
Defiant, refusing to pitch war against each other.
The arena exploded as all knights without exception did the same.
Spectators began to wonder why death was necessary under the guise of entertainment.
Things changed.
No longer a fight to the death without a cause.
This war became a tournament, skill against skill, not life against death.

91 words.
