3 December 2007, 10:50 pm - Meat-eating orchids forgive no one just yet I decided to join the trend, and just put in some Nirvana in the CD player today. "Heart-Shaped Box" isn't my favorite Nirvana song, but I think I'll always have a soft spot for it. I remember hearing it - Katie handed me her walkman, and was like, yeah, here, listen to "Rape Me" - except of course, it was a tape, so you had to rewind and guess. And I heard the song BEFORE good ol' Waif Me, and I was just... damn. So I listened to Rape Me, and then I had to pass it on to Tiffany, so I rewound it and listened to part of Heart-Shaped Box again, and after Tiffany had listened to Rape Me, eventually the walkman found its way back into my grubby little hands, where I promptly rewound it the entire way... and I listened to Heart-Shaped Box in its entirety, and really, things have never been quite the same. So I'm listening to my CD today and thinking about all of this, listening to all of these songs and despite the fact that I'll listen to other music even obsessively, and other types of music and all of that... ...when I get right down to it? Nirvana's still at the top. I've been drawn into the magnet tar pit trap. So to speak.

5 April 2004, 9:33 am - Ten Years Well. Ten years later. And there's still the random speculation at times that it wasn't suicide, it was murder, or what have you. I suppose the idea that he was simply unhappy isn't enough for some people? Anyway. Rest in peace, Kurt.

23 September 2002, 5:40 pm - Come As You Are... Thank you, 99X, for the best Monday-present ever. "You Know You're Right," the unreleased Nirvana track, has been heard. It's amazing and we've missed so much with Kurt's death. The song has to be at least 8 years old but it's not dated at all. It's simply amazing, it truly is. The CD is set to be out by Christmas, adding another awesome thing to the fall. I love fall. My birthday's in the fall (15 October), you can get pumpkin pie and lots of apples and sweet potatoes, and of course fun entertainment stuff. Like, this fall, Chamber of Secrets, the new Robert Jordan book... And how about that rumor on the Leaky Cauldron of maybe OotP by Christmas?? I love fall. I love Nirvana. "I'm so happy, 'cause today I found my friends..."
