10 February 2008, 9:47 pm - Unrelated Bullet Post • Netflix won't let Macs do the 'Watch Instantly' option. I feel as if I should get a small discount, since I will never be using it. They did invite me to buy a Windows emulator for my computer and then watch. Um, no. If I was going to buy a Windows emulator, it would not be for watching Netflix. Actually, I can really only think of one or two reasons I would buy a Windows emulator, and one of them is just a note that if I were going to run one, I might as well use that program. Otherwise, no.
• Gillian lost her eighth tooth tonight. As soon as she told me, I had to write myself a note so that I'd remember to take the tooth and replace it with a dollar. Luckily, I do have a dollar bill. Otherwise, I'd have to send Sam to QT or something. • I'm searching for a new shake/smoothie protein powder. I had been using the one JuicePlus makes, but I've decided I'm just not comfortable with the soy aspect. I'm thinking about a hemp-based one. • Does anyone actually watch the Grammys? • This week's episode on ww_renaissance is 'Let Bartlet Be Bartlet,' which is a little cheesy at the end, but overall, a really solid episode. Watching a WW episode each week makes me all kinds of happy anyway. • Gillian has to give a presentation at Master's Academy tomorrow, on Winston Churchill. She has index cards and everything. While parents are invited to attend the presentation, I don't really have the ability to have anyone else deal with Jacob, so I think we will just skip that. • I ought to go to bed now, but we slept late this morning, so I am having trouble convincing my body that I am, in fact, tired.
1 January 2007, 6:42 pm - Meet the new boss same as the old boss We came home this afternoon, around 3:30 or so. We unloaded and put most things away. Yesterday, my computer decided to fry and isn't that just the way it goes? I have tons of stuff on that computer specificially that I need to do; I kept telling myself I'd take care of it once I got home, either tonight or tomorrow. Now I'm not sure how I'm going to do that. The good news is that's not the hard drive. That's something at least. I think. I have several resolutions for the new year but unfortunately one of them was not 'break no more electronics' and anyway I can't really do anything about that, since I'm not the reason they tear up. Our camcorder died three weeks ago and then today my parents' camcorder died. This is noteworthy because we bought them at the same time a bit over three years ago. They are slightly different models, but both Canons and similar enough to have the same instruction manual. I find it highly suspicious that they both had the same problem so close to the time when an extended warranty would end. One of the resolutions I do have is to lose weight. I'm not looking forward to it, but I know I have to do it, starting tomorrow. Which means that tonight, I'll eat chocolate ice cream.

4 February 2004, 1:13 am I also have lost a shitload of email, because Eudora didn't copy correctly over to this machine, and I have to wait until tomorrow evening for Sam to (hopefully) remedy this situation. Am not impressed, not impressed at all. New keyboard too. New keyboard nice and makes good clicky noises. May be able to write with new keyboard and monitor. Too soon to tell yet. I'm tired and I reek of smoke, since the Starbucks closed at 10 (!!), and we went to a pub to finish book club. t00by starbucks. pub not t00by. fark, Gillian's got tumbling class in the morning at 9:45. Someone send me restful vibes.
