At night I wake up with the sheets soaking wet and a freight train running through the middle of my head.


My mind doesn't turn off. It comes up with ideas, scenarios, plans, thoughts, at a crazy-making rate. I went to a meeting tonight and all that did was add thoughts to the litany going through my head. I wanted to go to bed at a decent hour tonight. Instead, I'll be trapped up. Trying to quiet my brain.

It's really a miracle I'm not an alcoholic or a drug addict. That demerol I got after my gallbladder surgery was awesome. It made my brain stop.
