Pool Cover Dance Floor Rentals
Every Opus pool cover is built to be fully walkable, standable, and danceable — engineered to safely hold guests, lounge furniture, and full dance floors on top of your existing pool. We’ve built 80 to 100 walk-on pool covers a year since 2014, including custom platforms for weddings, corporate events, and large outdoor receptions in greater Los Angeles. Whether you want a plexiglass dance floor, a hardwood-finish platform, or a fully custom design, every pool cover is engineered well above the stated event capacity.

We also offer pool cover rentals with clear plexiglass. Our plexiglass pool covers can be added to all or a portion of any platform, adding that extra wow factor to any event. Most pool cover installs are paired with complementary rentals to complete the look. Popular add-ons include event lighting — uplighting around the platform edge or chandeliers above the dance area — and fabric drapery to define the space and create dramatic backdrops for ceremonies. Frequently Asked Questions
How much does a pool cover dance floor cost in Los Angeles?
Pool cover pricing varies based on size, platform type, and surface finish. A flush platform costs more than a staged platform because it’s built to match the exact shape of the pool. Plexiglass surfaces are the most premium option; turf is the most cost-effective. Because every install is custom, we don’t publish set pricing — send us a photo of your pool or a Google Earth view and we’ll send back a ballpark quote within 24 hours.
What sizes of pool covers do you build?
We build pool covers from the smallest residential pools all the way up to large commercial venues. Examples from past events include a 40×60 ft platform covering a 26×40 pool plus surrounding deck space. We don’t typically cover Olympic-size pools, but everything else — backyard pools, rooftop pools at hotels, even indoor pools and fountains — is fair game. Every platform is custom-built to your pool’s exact dimensions.
How many people can stand on a pool cover platform?
Every Opus pool cover is fully walkable — designed and engineered so guests can safely walk, stand, dance, and lounge on top of the platform. There’s no fixed weight or guest limit; each platform is engineered for the specific event and rated above the stated capacity. We’ve handled weddings of 300 to 400 guests on covered pools without incident, including dancing, full lounge setups, and live entertainment on the covered surface.
Plexiglass vs hardwood pool cover — which should I choose?
Plexiglass is the premium aesthetic choice — the platform itself becomes part of the design, since guests can see the water through the surface. It’s often used for upscale weddings, ceremony platforms, and design-forward events. Hardwood-look surfaces (vinyl plank or actual hardwood-style finishes) are more traditional — they read as a permanent extension of the deck and pair well with both indoor and outdoor venues. Both are walkable, both support full event use; the choice is aesthetic and budget-driven.
Do you cover indoor pools, rooftop pools, or only backyard pools?
We cover all of them. The vast majority of our installs are backyard pools in greater Los Angeles, but we’ve covered indoor pools, hotel rooftop pools (with custom timing so the pool can stay open as long as possible before the event), and even fountains and water features. The wood-framed approach adapts to nearly any pool environment.
How quickly can you install a pool cover for a last-minute event?
Our standard lead time is six to eight weeks, especially for larger or fully custom builds. That said, we’ve booked pool covers as quickly as one week out depending on availability and complexity. Same-day install is possible at additional cost. If you have an event coming up sooner than six weeks, call us anyway — we’ll tell you honestly whether we can make it work.
