Group Admission
Groups of 10 or more will receive a 10% discounted admission rate.

Buses
Bus groups are welcome at Mt. Cuba Center! If you intend to arrive by bus, please contact us in advance so we may reserve the appropriate parking space for your group. Please note: not all of the local roads can accommodate large vehicles. Motor coach accessible directions can be found here.
Accessibility
While we work to develop and install more accessible paths as we grow, wheelchair access is limited due to our rolling terrain and mulched paths. Golf Cart transportation to the Ponds and back to accessible paths is available upon request. Exclusive Access Tours – for Groups of Less Than 10 people
Mt. Cuba Center offers a variety of tours for groups of less than 10 guests, scheduled at your preferred time. These private tours provide a customized experience tailored to a variety of interests with one of our staff members. Contact groupsales@mtcubacenter.org or 302.239.5083 to inquire about these exclusive tour offerings. $250 flat fee, includes garden admission.

Each walk brings Mt. Cuba Center’s mission of inspiring an appreciation for the beauty and value of native plants to life. This introductory tour is perfect for those who wish to learn more about the history of our gardens, native plants, and conservation tips that can be applied at home.
One hour, $5 per person in addition to garden admission
Accessible Welcome Walks
Experience our “Welcome Walk” by newly paved and accessible pathways! This introductory tour is perfect for those who wish to learn more about the history of our gardens, native plants, and conservation tips that can be applied at home, while having easy access to the beautiful pathways and gardens. Please note: this tour is given on foot and is about .35-.5 miles long. Golf cart transportation is available to take guests to the accessible pathways for walking. Garden Enthusiast Tour
Take an in-depth look at Mt. Cuba Center’s gardens and discover how to apply sustainable gardening practices. Learn about environmental topics such as climate change, systems-thinking, and consciously sourcing native plants for your region. This tour expands on concepts covered in the introductory Welcome Walk.
Two hours, $7 per person in addition to garden admission.
The History of Mt. Cuba Center Tour (New for 2025!)
This tour covers the 90-year transformation of Mt. Cuba Center’s landscape from its beginning as a private country estate to a public botanical garden. Learn about the many people, ideas, and ecologically inspired vision that have contributed to the design and evolutions of our gardens over time.

The Beauty of Living Soil Tour (New for 2025!)
The secret to beautiful gardens is buried in the soil. Join us on this special tour to learn the ways in which native plants rely on the work of an underground network for their vigor and beauty. During this interactive walk, explore examples of how our soil management supports an intact ecosystem. Discover how to revitalize your garden by supporting important bacteria, fungi, and microorganisms – creating happy, healthy, living soil.

Demystifying Toxic Plants Tour (New for 2025!)
Join us for a hike of the natural lands. Learn about Mt. Cuba Center’s approach to land management and the events that shape our past, current, and future landscapes. Be empowered to take ecologically beneficial actions to support native wildlife and habitats with the effects of climate change in mind. Bring water and be prepared to hike steep paths and uneven terrain.
One hour, $7 per person in addition to garden admission.

Health & Well-Being Tour (New for 2025!)
Explore the gardens and discuss the value of nature as it relates to health and well-being. Learn about the evolutionary and environmental phenomena behind concepts like forest bathing, mindfulness, stress recovery, and the biophilia hypothesis. Discover how elements of landscape design shape our emotional and behavioral experiences in nature.

Join us for a hike of the natural lands. Learn about Mt. Cuba Center’s approach to land management and the events that shape our past, current, and future landscapes. Hayride Highlights
Sit back and relax on this one-hour guided hayride through our natural lands. Perfect for groups who like to take in the seasonal scenery in a beautiful outdoor setting. Wagon has a capacity of 26 but can make multiple trips for large groups.
One hour, $125 in addition to garden admission.

Hayride & Hike
Hitch a hayride deep into our natural lands before adventuring on foot for a behind-the scenes experience of Mt. Cuba’s wilder side. Hike to the far corners of the property and discover how Mt. Cuba applies “gardening on a higher level” in natural areas. Learn about ever-evolving land management strategies, conservation efforts and research, and the state of our restoration projects. Bring water and be prepared to hike steep paths and uneven terrain. Hayride and Hike lasts approximately two-hours. Haywagon has a capacity of 26 but can make multiple trips for large groups.
