The Empty Space in My Bed #poetry #lyrics

Its empty

where I lay my head

cold vacancy

left in our bed

where you once laid

an empty space

where there was love

there is no trace

**

memories tears

leave my cheeks wet

your  fingers in my hair

I cannot forget

the warmth of you

never to return

all my love letters

you left to burn

**

It’s empty

where I lay my head

cold vacancy

 left in our bed

where you once laid

 an empty space

where there was love

there is no trace

**

what little remains

 in what you’d written

can no longer warm me

of that I am certain

there’s no heat from us

that I can retain

sadness in these sheets

chills like  empty rain

**

It’s empty

where I lay my head

cold vacancy

 left in our bed

where you once laid

 an empty space

where there was love

there is no trace

I passed by you (Poem – One Shot Wednesday)

Yesterday

I passed by you

you caught my eye and held it

you made a point to touch

to never let me go

my heart

soared

***

Today

I passed by you

our eyes met

we barely touched

you hurriedly let go

my heart wanted to know

Why?

***

Just Now

I passed by you

Our eyes averted

we barely touched

I could feel you jump

away

***

And so..

my heart sank in despair

did you feel me near you?

once you would have drawn me to you

would never let me

go

One with the Dirt

Elements of life

took me down

harshness in words

I’m one with the ground

***

I have not resigned

my life to this

there has to be more

something that I’ve missed

***

So -Life is not fair

a fact well known

the dirt a symbol

difficulties sown

***

There is always hope

at last I see

freedom  and sunshine

flowing over me

***
