A few months ago, I posted here about the project I was involved in, The Gathering. It's an independent comic book anthology with a bunch of my friends from a comic book message board. I've got a two page story in it, and a future volume will have a seven-page story by me!
$3 a copy, by paypal. I know not everyone may be able to buy, but if you can, it would be really appreciated. :)
Our editor is also doing a fund-raising thing for future volumes here. Again, no expectations, but there are some pretty cool incentives for donations if you participate, including signed copies, sketches, etc.
Anyway, that's my promotion thing for this morning. I really hope everyone who buys the book enjoys it - there's some great stories in there besides mine. I'm really proud to have been a part of this. :)
The two years I've participated in this exchange, I have gotten two of my favorite fics ever. Last year I got Adding Something Better to It, a wonderful Cass/Jason/Steph story which I loved so much, it inspired a series of mine.
This year, my mystery author gave me Confused-Ticky-Box Life. And in case you're wondering why I'm clapping like a seal at the moment, it's because not only did my writer write me Jessica Drew fic, they wrote me Kitty/Jessica/MJ fic! This is one of my ultimate Marvel OT3s, and the fic is hilarious and adorable and awesome and everyone should read it.
So, yeah, needless to say, doing 3 Ships again next year. XD
I've started a new Community. It's a multifandom fic/art exchange community, where writers can trade their work in exchange for fanart by talented artists, and vice versa!
Writers - got that one scene in your work you're dying to see as a drawing?
Artists - got that plotbunny running around in your head that you'd love to see written?
Then join ficartexchange now and let the fun begin! It's just getting started. I'm about to post the rules in the first post, so I need all the help I can get to get this off the ground!
Well, I FINALLY finished my first 3-chapter fanfiction. The third chapter is up at the list I now own, and I hope everyone enjoys it(assuming they still remember it LOL). It was an interesting experiment, but I doubt I'll do a serial like this in the future. My schedule is just too irregular, and I hate the feeling of leaving my readers hanging. If I do a longer fic as a one-shot, it may take a long time to finish it, but at least my fans won't be tortured with cliffhangers like this. Either way, I'm proud that I finally finished it. I always had it in the back of my mind that I wanted to write fanfic, but I was never sure I could in the traditional format. Now I know I can. :D
I just posted the first chapter of my new fanfiction on one of my Yahoo groups! I've never been able to sit down and write fanfiction before, so I just hope people like it. I think it's pretty good, though, so I'm proud of myself. It's a Superman/Supergirl fic that's been percolating in my mind for several weeks now. As long as DC keeps on publishing comics with Kara in it, I should continue to be inspired. I'm not promising a sequel yet(I should probably publish the other chapters first, haha!), but I'm not saying no either. I definitely had fun with this one! And it was great to be able to write Kara again. I've missed her since my last Rpg ended, and she didn't really fit into my new one. So I'm happy right now :D
I got a question to ask, did you ever post this on Fanfiction.net? I ask because that was where I initially read the fic and if you didn't post it there, then someone…
