Active Outdoor Play 10-yr Anniversary Project (AOP10)

I’m part of an international team of researchers conducting a systematic review. We are examining how teachers animate OPAL in elementary schools all over the world. Research manuscripts, reports and infographics can be accessed here. Learn more about Outdoor Play Canada and the 10 year anniversary project here.

Doctoral Dissertation.

My PhD research project was a critical participatory action research (CPAR) project with teachers from across British Columbia to better understand how outdoor play and learning (OPAL) is enacted in our schools. My full dissertation is now available here.

You can access all three publications from this study here and you can check out the tool we collectively built as a digital colleague for elementary school teachers here.  The tool includes 16 modules, alongside a comprehensive speaker series.

The entire resource is FREE for teachers and designed as a lunch and learn for professional dialogue within school communities of practice.

Environmental Educators’ Provincial Specialist Association (EEPSA).

I am continuing in my role as the Communications Director of EEPSA, a specialist association for teachers in the province of British Columbia. Learn more about our work and consider joining a local chapter here.

Booking a speaker is a big decision! Contact Megan to discuss your event.

I am currently employed full time as a teacher consultant in the province of British Columbia.

My availability for workshops and webinars is limited for the 2025-2026 school year.

I am currently accepting bookings for the late Spring, Summer, and Fall of 2026 (and beyond!)

Organizations, school districts & independent schools interested in working with me into 2026 and beyond can contact me here to discuss learning goals or event dates and details.

Topics I am available to consult on include risky play in schools, outdoor play and learning (OPAL) in schools, school gardening, and pedagogies of place and play in the elementary school context.

Let's discuss your event!
