With 3 decades of professional elementary school teaching experience, Dr. Megan Zeni offers scholarship and evidence grounded in the practical realities of day-to-day teachers.

Megan is a whole systems thinker who offers mentorship, leadership, and responsive coaching specific to pedagogical applications of outdoor play and learning.

Megan speaks to the benefits of increasing equitable access to outdoor play and learning (OPAL) during the school day as essential work for school systems going forward. Megan is well-known for how she supports teachers and schools navigate existing systems to collectively re-think where and how learning happens.

Megan is currently on contract with two professional portfolios in a public school district. This work includes supporting education professionals and elementary school teachers as an early learning & outdoor learning teacher consultant. 

Megan is a Qualified Master Gardener (QMG) and loves to share exemplars that highlight how all academic content can be taught in a school garden.

Dr. Megan Zeni earned a PhD from the University of British Columbia in curriculum studies. This dissertation research resulted in publication of a FREE digital colleague for teachers.
