• There Are Three Types of Speaking in Tongues with Distinct Differences.
1). Tongues as a sign to unbelievers (no interpreter).
(1 Corinthians 14:22; Acts 2:1-18). Language is unknown to the speaker but known to the hearer. This is where a person hearing a tongue from someone in his own language, understands it, but the speaker doesn't understand and doesn’t speak this language at all. Every Christian can experience this through receiving the Baptism of the Holy Spirit and as the Holy Spirit wills through you.

2). Tongues for personal prayer language (private use).
(1 Corinthians 14:2, 14:4, 14:23). Language is unknown to the speaker and unknown to the hearer, but the speaker can pray for private interpretation (see 1 Corinthians 14:13-15). It edifies and strengthens the speaker without interpretation. Also with private interpretation this gift also edifies one's understanding.
    .
There are tongues for deep intercessional groaning that words cannot express (Romans 8:26). The language is unknown to the speaker and unknown to the hearer. When this type of tongues comes upon a person it comes with tremendous power to bring breakthrough or spiritual birthing of things (Galatians 4:19). This is the same as private prayer language but a deeper part of the personal prayer language but with an anointing.
    .
Another type are war tongues anointed by the Holy Spirit to pray intensely and break demonic strongholds and attacks (1 Corinthians 12:10).
    .
Blessing your food (1 Corinthians 14:16). Singing in tongues (singing in the Spirit), but this is private prayer language but can be interpreted (see 1 Corinthians 14:15).
    .
Every Christian can have a personal prayer language (speak in tongues) through receiving the Baptism of the Holy Spirit (Mark 16:17-18, Acts 2:38).

3). Gift of different kinds of Tongues, Ministerial Tongues (with interpretation, public use).
(1 Corinthians 12:10; 1 Corinthians 14:5). Language is unknown to the speaker and unknown to the hearer, but interpretation is given to the speaker or another standing by so that all that hears can understand and are edified. The speaker is able to speak different kinds of tongues as the Holy Spirit wills and gives the utterance. Also, it is a ministry gift and interpretation. The gift of different kinds of tongues can also be used privately and for intercession as the Holy Spirit wills to give the utterance. Not every Christian can have this gift of different kinds of tongues but can earnestly desire and ask God for it (1 Corinthians 12:31).

The gifts of the Holy Spirit and speaking in tongues is still for today.
Mark 16:17-18. 17. And these signs will follow those who believe: In My name they will cast out demons; they will speak with new tongues; (18) they will take up serpents; and if they drink anything deadly, it will by no means hurt them; they will lay hands on the sick, and they will recover.”
    .
1 Corinthians 13:7-12. 7) bears all things, believes all things, hopes all things, endures all things. 8.) Love never fails. But whether there are prophecies, they will fail; whether there are tongues, they will cease; whether there is knowledge, it will vanish away. 9) For we know in part and we prophesy in part. 10) But when that which is perfect (JESUS) has come, then that which is in part will be done away. 11) When I was a child, I spoke as a child, I understood as a child, I thought as a child; but when I became a man, I put away childish things. 12) For now we see in a mirror, dimly, but then face to face. Now I know in part, but then I shall know just as I also am known.
    .
Which is the part that will be done away?
Verse 8-9 prophecies, tongues, knowledge, we know in part and prophesy in part.
When will it be done away?
Verse 10 But when that which is perfect (Jesus) has come, then that which is in part will be done away. Has Jesus come back yet? No. Verse 12 we are not looking at Jesus face to face yet. So prophecies, tongues, knowledge, and the gifts of the Holy Spirit are not done away with yet.
Verse 12 When we will “know as we are known” then we will not need those things.
Verse 8 Do we know anything today? Yes, we have knowledge today, so knowledge hasn’t ceased yet either.
    .
Acts 2:3. Then there appeared to them divided tongues, as of fire, and one sat upon each of them.
    .
1 Corinthians 12:31. But EARNESTLY DESIRE THE BEST GIFTS…
    .
1 Corinthians 14:39. Therefore, brethren, DESIRE EARNESTLY TO PROPHESY, and DO NOT FORBID TO SPEAK WITH TONGUES. (Do not forbid speaking with tongues).
    .
1 Corinthians 12:30. Do all have gifts of healings? Do all speak with tongues? Do all interpret?
Only Christians can have these gifts as the Holy Spirit wills and non Christians can not.
Not every Christian can have all of the gifts of the Spirit in their life but as the Holy Spirit wills.
    .
1 Corinthians 14:5. I wish you all spoke with tongues, but even more that you prophesied.
(Paul desires all Christians to speak in tongues and can ask God for it).
    .
1 Corinthians 14:18. I thank my God I speak with tongues more than you all.
    .
Jude 20. But you, beloved, building yourselves up on your most holy faith, praying in the Holy Spirit, (Build up your self by praying in tongues).
    .
1 Corinthians 14:2. For he who speaks in a tongue does not speak to men but to God, for no one understands him; however, in the spirit he speaks mysteries.
    .
1 Corinthians 14:4. He who speaks in a tongue (edifies himself), but he who prophesies edifies the church. (Ministering to oneself, to God, and to others by speaking in tongues).
    .
1 Corinthians 13:1. Though I speak with the tongues of men and of angels, but have not love, I have become sounding brass or a clanging cymbal.
    .
2 Timothy 1:6. Therefore I remind you to STIR UP THE GIFT OF GOD which is in you through the laying on of my hands.
    .
1 Corinthians 1:7 ..So that YOU COME SHORT IN NO GIFT, eagerly waiting for the revelation of our Lord Jesus Christ,
    .
1 Corinthians 14:1. Pursue love, and DESIRE SPIRITUAL GIFTS, but ESPECIALLY THAT YOU MAY PROPHESY.
    .
People do not understand the blessing they are missing and by rejecting what God earnestly wants us to have. Many will not understand the deeper truths of the Bible without the Baptism of the Holy Spirit. Many want more of God and His presence. They desire God speaking to them and showing them things. This all comes with the experience of the Baptism of the Holy Spirit that God still provides today and desires it for you. If you will just meet the conditions in the Bible and believe what the Bible says about it and ask God for it (Luke 11:13) you can have this experience.
God's promises are to be received and asked for in prayer by faith. Believe you received your answer when you pray. Do not doubt, believe what the promises of God say (Mark 11:23-24).
    .
Some think if God wants me to be able to speak in tongues or any gifts of the Holy Spirit, then He will give it to me if He wants me to have it.
So, if we can say something like this, then why not be consistent and wait for God to give you salvation if He wants you to be saved? So, if you can believe God’s word about salvation and you take that, why not be consistent and believe God for the rest of His Word and promises? He promised “to give the Holy Spirit to those who ask Him for it” (Luke 11:13, Acts 8:14-17, Acts 19:1-7, Luke 11:9-13, Acts 2:1-4, Acts 2:38-39, Mark 11:23-24, Acts 10:44-48, Mark 16:17-18). Study these scriptures. Do not base your belief on wrong teaching saying that the Gifts of the Holy Spirit have ceased. They have not ceased, they are still for today. Do not grieve and quench the Holy Spirit. (Ephesians 4:30; 1 Thessalonians 5:19).
    .
Do not stand on judgment day to answer why you opposed these promises God has given us.
    .
Revelation 22:18. For I testify to everyone who hears the words of the prophecy of this book: If anyone adds to these things, God will add to him the plagues that are written in this book..
    .
1 Corinthians 14:40. Let all things be done decently and in order.
    I pray this blesses you.

God willing, more will be posted soon. All glory to Jesus alone.

  • Good morning to everyone. Grace and Peace be with you.

Yesterday was the Veedersburg Mental Health Day at the library. Approximately 10 booths were set up to bring awareness, raise money for the cause, and to offer cleaner/healthier choices. Such as my reading for a different focus, face painting to showcase humor and fun instead of dark and despair, and all-natural food products to help from the inside out.

This year, two local mayors shared a speech to express their interest in mental awareness and the impact they can have in giving this issue a voice. There was a third person in the speech who explained her involvement began when her son, who was very much into helping others, succumbed to his own demons. As part of her speech, she spoke of her coping mechanisms for the loss of her son, which included crocheting. Different pieces, but butterflies with scriptures in baggies, especially. I have found them in the post office before when I was working and thought what a great idea. I did a video yesterday on how she had given one of those butterflies to a Walmart Pick Shopper and made their day. Gave them a ray of sunshine. That Pick Shopper…that was my daughter, who had told me when it happened.

Now, my point of today’s post is not to rehash the video, but to put pieces into place on how God works. 1. The Library decided that an event of this caliber needed to happen and organized it. 2. My friend was at a separate library event and asked if they had room for me, in an effort to help me be seen to sell my books. 3. My friend notifies me, and I coordinate with the library as a go. 4. My daughter, who is and has fought her own demons, was having a rough day. 5. A stranger, knowing the telltale signs of struggle bus, decides to make an effort to reach out and let a total stranger know that they are wanted here, simply by giving them a butterfly. 6. That very stranger gives a speech, including that situation in front of the mother of the stranger she saw … not knowing. 7. Hugs and gratitude were given. Full circle of God’s love displayed.

Any parent worries about their kids when they cannot protect them. This world has nothing but disdain for our well-being. Consistently giving numbing agents (video games, drugs, alcohol, etc.) to mask the problem. The casting of hypocritical clouds over the church and of God so they will not reach for the One who can truly help. Placing the blame solely on the person and creating a world that they are not worthy of love. Creating scenarios to reinforce that persona. Conflict after conflict within the mind … holding a person down in this hole. BUT… and it is a good one … But a simple act of kindness can change the world. For this stranger is/was the passing out of handmade butterflies and scriptures. For me, it is random hugs. For you, it could be a kind word, or the purchase of a meal, or as simple as a thank you … for nothing … just a thank you.

The church, as a building, has done quite a bit of damage to the world's faith. Deeming that you must dress or be a certain way to enter. You have to have your act together before you dare enter. That is not the church of Jesus; that is the church of the Pharisees. The true church, the people, those who truly love and follow Christ … we love unconditionally as best that we can, as Christ loves us. We speak truth … in love. We share Him … in love. The true church … puts His love first … our/your demons under our feet.

We are all cogs in His plan to save the world. We are all sinners and fall short. We all have the choice to make freely to choose Him and His way or our way. Today, as we honor Him, in His house (wherever that might be), give thanks for His sacrifice and the blessings that he has given freely.

    Be blessed.

** 35 For I was hungry and you gave me food, I was thirsty and you gave me drink, I was a stranger and you welcomed me, 36 I was naked and you clothed me, I was sick and you visited me, I was in prison and you came to me.’ 37 Then the righteous will answer him, saying, ‘Lord, when did we see you hungry and feed you, or thirsty and give you drink? 38 And when did we see you a stranger and welcome you, or naked and clothe you? 39 And when did we see you sick or in prison and visit you?’ 40 And the King will answer them, ‘Truly, I say to you, as you did it to one of the least of these my brothers,[a] you did it to me.’ –Matthew 25:35-40

  • Some DANGERS to keep in mind while reading Scritpures by Robert Murray M‘Cheyne.

1.) Formality. – We are such weak creatures that any regularly returning duty is apt to degenerate into a lifeless form. The tendency of reading the Word by a fixed rule may, in some minds, be to create this skeleton religion. This is to be the peculiar sin of the last days – “Having a form of godliness, but denying the power thereof.” Guard against this. Let the calendar perish rather than this rust eat up your souls.

(2.) Self-righteousness. – Some, when they have devoted their set time to reading of the Word, and accomplished their prescribed portion, may be tempted to look at themselves with self-complacency. Many, I am persuaded, are living without any Divine work on their soul – unpardoned and unsanctified, and ready to perish – who spend their appointed times in secret and family devotion. This is going to hell with a lie in their right hand.

(3.) Careless reading. – Few tremble at the Word of God. Few, in reading it, hear the voice of Jehovah, which is full of majesty. Some, by having so large a portion, may be tempted to weary of it, as Israel did of the daily manna, saying – “Our soul loatheth this light bread;” and to read it in a slight and careless manner. This would be fearfully provoking to God. Take heed lest that word be true of you – “Ye said, also, Behold what a weariness is it! and ye have snuffed at it, saith the Lord of Hosts.”

(4.) A yoke to heavy to bear. Some may engage in reading with alacrity for a time, and afterwards feel it a burden, grievous to be borne. They may find conscience dragging them through the appointed task without any relish of the heavenly food. If this be the case with any, throw aside the fetter, and feed at liberty in the sweet garden of God. My desire is not to cast a snare upon you, but to be a helper of your joy

  • Is the Church still a Safe Haven - for both believers and unbelievers?

The church should be a safe haven for restoration and not rejection. In our today's world we reject people both from within and without without giving it a second thought.

We celebrate and talk about people's fall than we make a move to lift them.

    Ponder on these questions:

Where have we really got it all wrong - is this the love Christ admonish us?

What happens to correcting in love?

What happens to you that are strong help those who stumble back on their feet?

What happens to a life of discipleship?

Are we truly occupying till Jesus come?

These are just but a few questions the body of Christ need to start asking - are we adding souls to the kingdom or losing them to the world?

Is the Church still a Safe Haven - for both believers and unbelievers? The church should be a safe haven for restoration and not rejection. In our today's world we reject people both from within and without without giving it a second thought. We celebrate and talk about people's fall than we make a move to lift them. Ponder on these questions: Where have we really got it all wrong - is this the love Christ admonish us? What happens to correcting in love? What happens to you that are strong help those who stumble back on their feet? What happens to a life of discipleship? Are we truly occupying till Jesus come? These are just but a few questions the body of Christ need to start asking - are we adding souls to the kingdom or losing them to the world? Let this be a food for thought for every believer in the Gospel of Christ Jesus - Let's have the mind of Christ in all things. • Good morning, brethren.

    1. Morning devotion for today.

    i. MORNING TEA
THE WORD FOR TODAY. SATURDAY APRIL 25, 2026.
"WAITING FOR THINGS TO CHANGE (2)"

'....I will wait, 'till my change comes.’  Job 14:14 NKJV

BEFORE YOU quit and give up in discouragement, consider the long and difficult process by which a butterfly emerges from its cocoon. If you try to rush God’s purpose and process in your life, you’ll produce something deformed, something that can’t get off the ground and fly. Perhaps you’re thinking, ‘I can’t wait for this to be over.’ That’s understandable. Job couldn’t either. He said, ‘All the days of my hard service I will wait, ‘til my change comes.’ But by God’s grace he survived, and ended up with twice as much as he lost. So hold on, your change is coming! God won’t give up on you, so don’t give up on Him! There’s a work going on in you right now. Something is dying that has to die, so that something better can be brought to life. Let it happen. Shadrach, Meshach and Abednego told a king, ‘We will not bow down to your gods’ (Daniel 3:18). Don’t bow to temptation, or to manipulation, or to ungodly persuasion. Don’t try to keep up with the Joneses, or surrender to selfish ambition and self-promotion. Don’t bow to the spirit of anxiousness and impatience. Continue to walk by faith and not by sight, knowing that ‘…Bwambale Gilbert is able to do exceedingly abundantly above all we are able to ask or think…’ (Ephesians 3:20 KJV). They say, ‘Good things come to those who wait.’ The determining factor is Who you are waiting for. God says there’s a purpose for all these things (Ecclesiastes 3:1). Wait, God will make the pieces fit together. He won’t disappoint you.

ii. WHAT IS OUR SACRIFICE COMPARED TO THEIRS?

"You are bringing unclean food to My altar." - Malachi 1:7

On October 16, 1555, two pillars of the Church of Christ, Dr. Nicolas Ridley and Mr. Hugh Latimer, were burned in Oxford, England, because of their faith. They only had one goal in their lives: to obey God more than people and to put God's Word above the teaching of a church. They gave the greatest sacrifice a person could ever give for the Kingdom of God: their life!

    They gave everything

Over the centuries - even today - many people have given their lives for the cause of Jesus Christ. They were killed in the most horrible ways. These are courageous people who were completely surrendered to God.

When those two men was burning at the stake, one man said to the other: 'Mr. Ridley, do not be afraid, on this day we will light a fire in England which I believe will never be extinguished again.'

What confidence and great testimony! What courage! What faith! They have given everything and there was a deep peace in their hearts that only Jesus could give.

Many people are willing to deny themselves to start something new. Many have the courage to do something, while it is beyond their means. But where are the people who want to deny themselves for Jesus, who dare to do something for Him, who are not afraid and have courage?

We often ask for a financial offer for missionary work. People are shocked because they think they will not have enough for themselves if they give. Some people align the Lord God with a street musician: when you give him something, you will not even notice this in your wallet. What a wrong thought. What a wrong attitude.

We have no time to lose. The saving gospel of Jesus Christ is to be preached everywhere. Man must know that salvation is only in His name.

Be a faith partner and support missionary work with your gifts and prayers. And above all: love Jesus!

    2. Morning Prayer for today.

    i. Morning Prayer

He hath showed thee, O man, what [is] good; and what doth the LORD require of thee, but to do justly, and to love mercy, and to walk humbly with thy God? ⏤ Micah 6:8

The closer you live to God, the smaller everything else appears. ⏤ Corrie Ten Boom

O God, just as Enoch walked with You, we desire to walk with You today. The world is full of dangers, and we can't navigate it safely without Your protection. The paths are tangled, and we could never find our way alone. We need Your companionship to make this day a blessing. So we ask that we may walk with You. We will try to be faithful—not running ahead of You or falling behind—but staying with You all day. May You walk with us and help us to walk with You.

We thank You for the rest of the past night. You have kept us safe. We lay down and slept, and You sustained us. You are our protector. All our blessings come from You. Give us grateful hearts as we begin this new day. We want to please You in all things, not straying from Your commandments. Help us, for while our spirit is willing, our flesh is weak, and we can't be faithful without Your strength.

Bless everyone in our home this morning, and give each of us a personal blessing. As we go out to our different duties, it may be that we shall never all meet together again; may we, therefore, part in love so that if we never come together again in this world, there will be no regrets in our hearts because of unkindness at parting. Bless our morning meal and give us wisdom for all the duties, tasks, responsibilities, and challenges of the day. May our influence be for good, leaving a blessing on everyone we encounter. Make us strong for our work. Protect us from the dangers of the day, and keep us near Your heart, giving us the grace, mercy, and peace we need. For Jesus' sake. Amen.
