• Joy Beyond Circumstances

May the God of hope fill you with all joy and peace as you trust in him, so that you may overflow with hope by the power of the Holy Spirit.
    Romans 15:13
I have come to understand that there is an important difference between joy and happiness. Happiness is often tied to external circumstances. Because my favorite color is pink, when I get new clothes or accessories in pink, I’m happy. But that feeling is usually temporary, since it’s dependent on an outward circumstance.

Joy, on the other hand, comes from within. Joy is a deep, steady contentment. It’s being cheerful, no matter our outside circumstances or experiences.

True joy comes from Jesus living in our heart. When we trust him, and allow him to control our life, we can rest in the assurance that everything will be all right, because he is in control, and he loves us. As a result we experience true joy, lasting joy that is dependent on the Holy Spirit and not our own strength.

When our joy is anchored in Christ rather than in circumstances, we can face each day with peace and confidence. No matter what changes around us, God remains the same. He is faithful, loving, and we can be full of joy and hope for our future.

Dear God, help me to trust in you and not my own strength. I pray you fill my heart with joy and may it overflow and be a light to others.

Throughout the day: When you face a challenge that threatens to steal your joy, pause and pray. Ask God to fill you with joy and peace.

  • Good evening, brethren.

    1. Evening devotion for today.

    i. *DAILY WALK WITH CHRIST*
    (COCIN DEVOTIONAL)

    *DATE:*
    SATURDAY, 7TH MARCH, 2026.

    *SUB-THEME:*
THE GRACE OF GOD IN DIFFICULT TIMES.

    *TOPIC:*
    CHALLENGES OF BREADWINNING.

    *TEXT:*
    PROVERBS 31:10-31
10 Who can find a capable wife? Her value far exceeds the finest jewels. Pro 12:4
11 Her husband has full confidence in her; as a result, he lacks nothing of value.
12 She will bring good to him—never evil— every day of her life.
13 She seeks out wool and flax, working with eager hands.
14 She is like a seagoing ship that brings her food from far away.
15 She rises while it is still night, preparing meals for her family and providing for her women servants.
16 She evaluates a field and purchases it; from the proceeds she plants a vineyard.
17 She clothes herself with fortitude, and fortifies her arms with strength.
18 She is confident that her profits are sufficient. Her lamp does not go out at night.
19 She works with her own hands on her clothes— her hands work the sewing spindle. [Exo 35:25]
20 She reaches out to the poor, opening her hands to those in need.
21 She is unafraid of winter’s effect on her household, because all of them are warmly clothed.
22 She creates her own bedding, using fine linen and violet cloth.
23 Her husband is well known; he sits among the leaders of the land.
24 She designs and sells linen garments, supplying accessories to clothiers.
25 Strength and dignity are her garments; she smiles about the future.
26 She speaks wisely, teaching with gracious love.
27 She looks discretely to the affairs of her household, and she is never lazy.
28 Her children stand up and encourage her, as does her husband, who praises her:
29 “Many women have done wonderful things,” he says, “but you surpass all of them!”
30 Charm is deceitful and beauty fades; but a woman who fears the LORD will be praised.
31 Reward her for her work— let her actions result in public praise.

    *TOPIC:*
    CHALLENGES OF BREADWINNING.

    *THE MESSAGE:*
Providing for family needs is saddied with balancing the roles and responsibilities of both husband and wife (1 Tim. 5:8). Today's text describes the struggles of breadwinning. It paints the picture of a woman who is a capable provider. She handles the challenges of breadwinning by adopting resilience, diligence, hard work, resourcefulness, initiative, wisdom, and kindness. Her strength, dignity, and beauty are not based on her impressive achievements or appearance but her reverence for God. Despite carrying the weight and the difficulties of providing for her family, she still contributes to the well-being of her community. Are you crashing down with the expectations of the family, church, and community that you are always grumbling? Trust in God's providence.

    *REFLECTION:*
You need God's grace to provide for your family.

    *PRAYER:*
Lord, help me to provide for my family. Amen.

    *MEMORY VERSE FOR THE MONTH:*
    ROMANS 8:28.
And we know that in all things, God works for the good of those who love Him, who have been called according to His purpose.

    *TODAY'S BIBLE READING PLAN:*
    JOSHUA 22-24.

    The Great Taskmaster, Self
They to whom the Word comes in power know this deliverance, this inward migration of the soul from slavery to freedom, this release from moral bondage. They know in experience a radical shift in position, a real crossing over, and they stand consciously on another soil under another sky and breathe another air. Their life motives are changed and their inward drives made new.

What are these old drives that once forced obedience at the end of a lash? What but little taskmasters, servants of the great taskmaster, Self, who stand before him and do his will? To name them all would require a book in itself, but we would point out one as a type or sample of the rest. It is the desire for social approval. This is not bad in itself and might be perfectly innocent if we were living in a sinless world, but since the race of men has fallen off from God and joined itself to His foes, to be a friend of the world is to be a collaborator with evil and an enemy of God. Still the desire to please men is back of all social acts from the highest civilizations to the lowest levels upon which human life is found. No one can escape it. The outlaw who flouts the rules of society and the philosopher who rises in thought above its common ways may seem to have escaped from the snare, but they have in reality merely narrowed the circle of those they desire to please. The outlaw has his pals before whom he seeks to shine; the philosopher his little coterie of superior thinkers whose approval is necessary to his happiness. For both, the motive-root remains uncut. Each draws his peace from the thought that he enjoys the esteem of his fellows, though each will interpret the whole business in his own way.

    Verse
You who are trying to be justified by law have been alienated from Christ; you have fallen away from grace. Galatians 5:4

    Thought
The desire to please men is back of all social acts from the highest civilizations to the lowest levels upon which human life is found. No one can escape it.

    Prayer
Let our desire for approval be for Your approval, Lord.

    2. Evening Prayer for today.

    i. Evening Prayer

So teach [us] to number our days, that we may apply [our] hearts unto wisdom. ⏤ Psalm 90:12

The one concern of the devil is to keep Christians from praying. ⏤ Samuel Chadwick

Our Father, what shall we render unto You for all the mercies and kindnesses of this week received from Your hand? We have walked through these days with You, and You have kept us and blessed us. We have not always walked worthily. We have grieved You many times. We thank You for the mercy that never fails and for the forgiveness of our many transgressions.

May You use our week's work and bless it. We have met many people, some only for a moment, in passing, and some many times. Bless to each of them our passing words or our friendship. We have tried to be kind to those who were in need or trouble; may You bless all our giving, our visits to the sick or poor, and all our efforts to help others in any way. Forgive us for the times we failed to show love, when we passed by on the other side.

We remember this evening the many people around us in various conditions and circumstances. Some are Your children; let a blessing rest upon them. Make them more and more worthy, true-hearted, and whole-hearted Christians. Some are careless, drifting away from Jesus. Have mercy upon these, and save them from the perils of their course. Some are far from You, and do not know You. We ask You to send Your Spirit to convict them and bring them to repentance.

    We remember . . .
    The poor in their poverty,
The sick in their suffering and pain,
    The sorrowing in their distress.

Let a blessing rest upon the little children for whom no prayer rises in their own homes. Turn the hearts of all prayerless parents to their children, that they may plead with You for them. Fold us now in Your almighty arms, for Jesus’ sake. Amen.

  • Good morning, brethren.

    1. Morning devotion for today.

    i. MORNING TEA
THE WORD FOR TODAY. SUNDAY, MARCH 8, 2026.
    "TOUCHING JESUS"
‘If I can just touch Moses Ishaku, I will be healed.’ Mark 5:28 NLT

MARK RECORDS the story of a woman who’d haemorrhaged for twelve years and spent every penny she had on doctors, but to no avail. What western culture discreetly refers to as ‘a female condition’ had devastated this Jewish lady’s life. Sexually, she couldn’t touch her husband. Maternally, she couldn’t have children. Domestically, whatever she touched was considered ‘unclean’. Spiritually, she couldn’t enter the temple. So, physically exhausted, socially ostracised, and spiritually depleted, she thought, ‘If I can just touch Jesus, I’ll be made whole’. Her miracle started when she thought about Jesus. But first she had to get through the crowd that stood between her and Him. And so will you! The crowd has its arguments and reasons, but not one of them is worth missing Jesus for. When this woman finally got to Him, two wonderful things happened: 1) She discovered that our faith gets Jesus’ attention every time. Many people in the crowd must have brushed up against Jesus that day, yet Mark records, ‘…Knowing in Himself that power had gone out of Him, [He] turned around in the crowd and said, “Who touched My clothes?”’ (v. 30 NKJV). Understand this: Jesus can tell the difference between a casual churchgoer and a truly hungry heart that pushes through pain, problems, and pressures, and touches Him by faith. 2) She’s the only woman Jesus ever called ‘…daughter…’ (v. 34 NKJV). Imagine how she felt. She probably couldn’t remember when she’d last heard a kind word. You’re not just a face in the crowd, and your problem is not too big for Jesus. Today, reach out in faith, touch Him, and be made whole!

ii. REBELLION, THE SIN OF WITCHCRAFT

"Rebellion is as sinful as witchcraft and stubbornness as bad as worshiping idols." - 1Samuel 15:23

When people think of witchcraft, they mostly think of magic sticks, flying broomsticks, strange spells, dark rooms, glass balls and other practices from the darkness. Rarely do they think of manipulation, intimidation and dominance.

Witchcraft is simply demonic. It is how the evil one makes his will yours without you noticing it. He gains power over your emotions and behavior. This is why people do things that they actually do not want to do. They do it because the will of the evil one has become their will. Why are there so many rebellious young people who cause trouble?

    The root of most problems

Rebellion is the root of most problems. Rebellion is deeply rooted in the mind of man. In the Netherlands many organizations are working on solving this problem and are looking for the cause of it. However, the true source cannot be found because they are searching in the wrong place. The right place to look for it is its root! Many of these rebellious youths are enchanted by the power of sin and they do not even realize this.

You may not believe this, but you will also find sorcery in churches. You will find this evil spirit everywhere. God said: 'You must get rid of the sin from among you.' Paul clearly states in Galatians 5:19-20 that witchcraft is the work of the flesh.

Since the garden of Eden, man did not want to submit to or obey God. The spirit of rebellion is everywhere. However, God's Spirit wants to clearly speak to you today if you are still suffering from that spirit of rebellion.

Begin to tackle the root, the cause. How can we deal with this sinful spirit of Lucifer, the greatest rebel that has ever existed? The Bible gives the answer. Peter says in Acts 2:38: 1) repent; 2) be baptized; 3) be filled with the Holy Spirit.

    2. Morning Prayer for today.

    i. Evening Prayer

But God commendeth his love toward us, in that, while we were yet sinners, Christ died for us. ⏤ Romans 5:8

The prayer of faith is a sincere, sensible, affectionate pouring out of the heart or soul to God. ⏤ John Bunyan

O God of love, we offer You our heartfelt thanks for all Your mercies, but especially for Your unspeakable gift, Jesus Christ, Your Son, in whom all gifts and blessings are included. We thank You that You loved us in our sin, not waiting for us to come to You with our love to win Your love, but that You demonstrated Your love to us in that while we were yet sinners, Jesus died for us. We humbly adore this wonderful love, without which we would have perished forever in our sins.

O may our hearts respond to Your love. Our love is so small in comparison with Yours—so unworthy, so fickle, and uncertain, that we are ashamed to offer it to You. Have mercy upon us, O God, and grant us more of Your grace and of Your Holy Spirit, that our love may be deepened and strengthened.

May this Sunday be blessed to us. Fix in our hearts all the good things we have heard and learned. Sanctify to us all our worship, the instruction we have received, and the holy impressions made upon us. Accept what we have tried to do to help and bless others.

Bless us again as a family as we bow at Your feet. Give us many rich blessings out of Your grace. Bless our time together today. May our home friendships grow deeper and more tender. Teach us how to love each other better. Preserve us from those miserable little faults that mar the life of love in so many homes—criticism, impatience, discourtesy, thoughtlessness, lack of gentleness. May love abound in each heart, so that our home life may be sweet and full of blessing.

We come beneath the shadow of Your wings as we go to our rest. Keep us, enrich us with all goodness and mercy, through Jesus Christ our Lord. Amen.

    Good evening, brethren.

Amen.

Good morning, brethren. 1. Morning devotion for today. i. 😀🌺🌹🎁🎀💝 MORNING TEA THE WORD FOR TODAY. SUNDAY, MARCH 8, 2026. "TOUCHING JESUS" ‘If I can just touch [Him], I will be healed.’ Mark 5:28 NLT MARK RECORDS the story of a woman who’d haemorrhaged for twelve years and spent every penny she had on doctors, but to no avail. Bible In A Year: Exo 36-38, Luke 15:1-10 , Pro 7:10-20. REBELLION, THE SIN OF WITCHCRAFT "Rebellion is as sinful as witchcraft and stubbornness as bad as worshiping idols." - 1Samuel 15:23 When people think of witchcraft, they mostly think of magic sticks, flying broomsticks, strange spells, dark rooms, glass balls and other practices from the darkness. The root of most problems Rebellion is the root of most problems. Peter says in Acts 2:38: 1) repent; 2) be baptized; 3) be filled with the Holy Spirit. https://www.theblessingdevotional.com 2. Morning Prayer for today. i. Evening Prayer But God commendeth his love toward us, in that, while we were yet sinners, Christ died for us. ⏤ Romans 5:8 The prayer of faith is a sincere, sensible, affectionate pouring out of the heart or soul to God. ⏤ John Bunyan O God of love, we offer You our heartfelt thanks for all Your mercies, but especially for Your unspeakable gift, Jesus Christ, Your Son, in whom all gifts and blessings are included.
