THE AUTHORITY AND POWER OF BELIEVERS IN JESUS CHRIST Jesus said we shall cast out demons. That is the same power we receive from Him. He is the only one who gives this power. When you are connected to Him, demons will run away. As the song says: “You are great, yes You are. Demons tremble before Your presence.” These things do not happen because of your profession, education, or career—they happen because you believe in Jesus. Jesus is calling everyone, no matter what you are going through. He will give you this power. This power is not only for pastors, but for everyone who believes in His name. When you believe, this authority will begin to manifest in your life. He also said you will handle serpents, and they will not harm you. Why? Because you are more powerful. The greater one overcomes the weaker one. Even if a serpent bites you, the poison will not harm your body, because the power of Jesus is at work in you. Another sign is that you will speak in new tongues. In your prayer life, you need to begin to speak in tongues. This is another dimension of power from Jesus. Under Whose Influence Are You? — The Holy Spirit or Strange Powers Every human life operates under an influence. No one lives independently. But whose influence controls your decisions, actions, and direction. Influence determines: ** What you desire ** How you react ** Where you go ** What you become In the spiritual realm, there are only two dominant influences: -- The Holy Spirit -- Strange powers (demonic forces, ancestral spirits, occult manipulation, fleshly impulses) Neutrality does not exist. 1. THE MEANING OF SPIRITUAL INFLUENCE Influence is the power that guides, controls, or directs behavior without force. Holy Spirit influence leads through conviction, truth, and righteousness.
