  • Colossians 2:10-12
And ye are complete in him, which is the head of all principality and power: In whom also ye are circumcised with the circumcision made without hands, in putting off the body of the sins of the flesh by the circumcision of Christ: Buried with him in baptism, wherein also ye are risen with him through the faith of the operation of God, who hath raised him from the dead.

As Believers we are “in Jesus Christ”, united to Him by God’s Spirit, therefore in Him we have all we need for a holy, wise, and spiritual life.
The “completeness” God has given us is the fullness of Grace, Power and Wisdom in Christ Jesus. We are to understand this and appropriate these things to ourselves and use them.

The flesh cannot be improved in any way. It deserves to die, and Jesus Christ by dying in our place as we align with it through water baptism has put our flesh to death and cut believers off from any connection with the flesh.

As believers we have a new heart, a new nature; we are separated from the old life, from the old man, from the old nature we lived before we confessed Jesus as Lord and Saviour, so we are to continue living that way.
This does not mean that the actual sinful nature within us is inactive, but we should engage in things that increases the power of the spirit above the flesh.

Since at baptism the flesh had already been buried with Christ To keep it continiously buried you must actively choose to obey the Word of God, live by the power of the Holy Spirit, and consistently focus your mind on eternal things rather than worldly desires and apply Conscious resistance to the flesh by treating the desires and temptations of your old nature as if they were dead, rather than giving them power over you.

As believers we are risen with Jesus Christ into a new nature, not a nature of sin anymore, but a nature of Holiness and Righteousness, this new nature is meant to be our continious lifestyle. Hallelujah.

    Jesus Loves you

  • Colossians 2:3-4
In whom are hid all the treasures of wisdom and knowledge. And this I say, lest any man should beguile you with enticing words.

Jesus Christ is the exclusive source where all divine wisdom and knowledge are "hidden" or stored, nothing essential for understanding or living a godly life can be found outside of Him. It counters alternative sources of "wisdom" by showing that true understanding is found by looking to Christ, rather than through other philosophies or secret knowledge.

Any preaching or teachings that is outside the doctrine of Christ Jesus, cannot enable anyone live a godly life,
Any principle that is not of Jesus Christ of living in this world cannot replace the wisdom of Jesus Christ.

Christ is completely sufficient, every aspect of true wisdom and knowledge is found in Him, Christ is the only place to find these "treasures of wisdom and knowledge.

We are not to be deceived by persuasive, eloquent, and deceptive arguments, particularly those based on human tradition and the elemental principles of the world
    .
Apst Paul emphasizes that while these arguments might seem wise or deep, they are a distraction from the sufficient truth of the Gospel and lead believers away from Christ.

Apst Paul is urgently warning us to be vigilant because our faith is under threat from false teachers. their messages, teachings can be eloquent but they are misleading arguments designed to lead people astray from the truth of the Gospel.

If we know Christ we are at the source of all wisdom, All wisdom, without limit, is in Christ Jesus and True wisdom begins with the fear of the one true God.

If you wank to know Jesus Christ seek Him genuinely from your heart and you will find Him, your bible is your manual for living, and The Holy Spirit is your Guide.

  • 1 Corinthians 13:13
And now abideth faith, hope, love, these three; but the greatest of these is love.

Faith, hope, and love are presented as fundamental and permanent elements of the Christian experience– far more important than any spiritual gift, but love is the most important because it is the greatest and will continue to exist even when faith becomes sight and hope is fulfilled.

Faith is necessary for our very salvation, the scripture says....

    John 3:36
He that believeth on the Son hath everlasting life: and he that believeth not the Son shall not see life; but the wrath of God abideth on him.

God has ordained that Christ has given eternal life to those who believe in Him. He is the only one who can give it and this is the only way by which it is received, through "Faith".

Hope is necessary for our expectation of the future.

    Romans 8:24-25
..... but hope that is seen is not hope: for what a man seeth, why doth he yet hope for? But if we hope for that we see not, then do we with patience wait for it.

This hope means a confident expectation that what God has revealed as coming in the future, will come, that his promises will be fulfilled. It is the other side of faith.

Even though the three are essential, one is greater which is "Love" why?

    * Faith takes, love gives, and it is more blessed to give than to receive.
    * Faith is like a hand that receives, love is the great thing it receives.
    * Hope is similar to faith and expects good for oneself, love seeks the good of others.
    * Faith and hope are means to an end, love is the end.
    * That which does most for the common good is the greatest and best, and love does this.
    * Love is the supreme virtue that underpins and gives meaning to faith and hope.

A Christian life is meant to be characterized by faith, hope, and an ever increasing measure of love.
