- When the Pulpit Becomes a Paycheck
God’s word makes it clear that the work of the ministry is a sacred calling, not a business. “A hireling,” Jesus said, “does not care for the sheep, but a wolf snatches them away. He does this because he is a hireling and does not care about the sheep” (John 10:12–13). Too many pulpits are now filled by men who are more concerned with profit than with the truth. The success of their ministry is measured by the size of their offering and the upgrades in their lifestyle, not by their fidelity to God’s Word.
The apostle Paul was clear in his rejection of such men: “We are not, like so many, peddlers of God’s word” (2 Corinthians 2:17). Peddle is a military word that means to market for personal advantage. These preachers make a product out of the gospel. They manipulate the emotions of people to wring donations from them, promise blessings in return for money, and lead a life of luxury while their flocks live in poverty. Peter said that false teachers “in their greed… will exploit you with false words” (2 Peter 2:3).
To be sure, faithful ministers should be supported. The Scripture says that “the elders who direct the affairs of the church well are worthy of double honor, especially those who work hard at preaching and teaching” (1 Timothy 5:17–18). This is the right of those who labor in the gospel. But there is a difference between receiving support and pursuing the ministry as a way to get rich. A true servant will preach the truth whether or not he is supported, he will endure hardship for the sake of Christ, and he will care more about the salvation of souls than about his own comfort.
Ministers who are in it for the money take the glory of Christ and exchange it for the cheap temporary satisfaction of wealth. They may win a large following, but they will lose the blessing of God. And one day they will give account to the Chief Shepherd for every word and every dollar that has been entrusted to them in false pretenses. The gospel is priceless, and it must never be for sale.
The gospel is too important to be twisted for personal gain. If you’ve seen how greed has crept into pulpits and you want to understand what God’s Word really says about it, don’t wait. Join us here and get the truth straight from Scripture: Know the Bible

KNOW-THE-BIBLE.COMThe Cost of Preaching Without CompromiseThe surprising thing in this passage is that Paul voluntarily renounces that right. Paul says in verses 12 and 15 that he does not use this right, for “I would lose all things” rather than let anything impede the preaching of the gospel of Christ. He did not want people to think he was in the ministry for the money.1 Comments 0 Shares 34 Views1

- Strength Without Surrender
Scripture
> “Cush begot Nimrod; he began to be a mighty one on the earth.”
— Genesis 10:8 (NKJV)
“Mighty Without God?”
Genesis 10:8 introduces us to Nimrod, a man known for his might and influence. The Bible describes him as a “mighty one on the earth.” He was strong, a skilled warrior, and a leader. But though he was mighty in the world’s eyes, Nimrod’s legacy became one of rebellion, not righteousness.
According to Scripture and tradition, Nimrod founded major cities like Babel and Nineveh—places later associated with idolatry, pride, and opposition to God. His name became symbolic of human strength used apart from God’s will.
This verse challenges us with an important truth:
> Being mighty in the world means nothing if you're not surrendered to God.
It’s not wrong to be strong, gifted, or influential—but the question is: Whose kingdom are you building—yours or God’s?
The world praises power, but God values humility and obedience. A surrendered life may not always look “mighty” by the world’s standards, but in God’s eyes, it's the only kind of strength that lasts.
Reflection Questions
1. Am I more focused on building my name or glorifying God's name?
2. In what areas of my life am I relying on my own strength instead of God’s?
3. Do I want to be mighty in the world or faithful in God's kingdom?
Prayer
Lord God, I don’t want to be mighty in the world and miss Your heart. Keep me humble. Teach me to surrender my strength, my gifts, and my influence to You. May everything I build be for Your glory, not mine. I choose obedience over fame and faithfulness over worldly success. In Jesus’ name, Amen.0 Comments 0 Shares 34 Views - Heavenly Father, On this thankful Thursday morning, we come before you with grateful hearts. We thank you for your faithfulness and goodness in our lives. Your mercies are new every morning, and we are filled with gratitude for your loving presence in our lives.
In your holy word, you teach us to give thanks in all circumstances, for this is your will for us in Christ Jesus. (1 Thessalonians 5:18) Help us to remember this as we face the challenges and joys of each day.
As we start this day, we are reminded of your blessings and provision in our lives. You have given us a new day to live for you and serve others. (Psalm 118:24) We are thankful for the gift of life and the opportunity to experience your love and grace.
We also want to express our thanksgiving for the people you have placed in our lives – our families, friends, and loved ones. They are your precious gifts, and we are grateful for their impact on our lives. (Proverbs 17:17)
We pray that you will continue to guide and protect us throughout this day. Help us to live in a way that brings glory and honor to your name. May we be instruments of your peace and love, spreading kindness and compassion to those we encounter. Grant us wisdom in our decisions and strength in our challenges, so that we may reflect your light in a world that often feels dark.
Help us to be mindful of the needs of others, serving with humility and grace. Let our actions and words be a testament to your goodness and mercy. May we be quick to listen, slow to speak, and slow to become angry, remembering the example of Christ in all we do.
As we go about our day, fill our hearts with hope and joy, and remind us of your unwavering presence. Thank you for your endless love and for the gift of today.
In Jesus' name, we pray. Amen.0 Comments 0 Shares 30 Views - This is TRUTH!!!!This is TRUTH!!!!0 Comments 0 Shares 25 Views

My wife and I are coming toward the end of nasty colds, and I wasn't feeling 'too sweet' as I exited my local Walmart after essential grocery shopping ( my domestic task ). I made my way a few days ago, with the shopping cart to the parking spot and just as I reached it, a large impressive new van emblazoned with decals and texts made its way slowly towards me. It slowed alongside me and then stopped as I read "I am a Muslim. Stop me and ask any question ! " ( "I certainly will" I said to the Lord) . The driver rolled down his window and I said " Tell me, why was Mohammed NOT prepared to give his life for his faith and his sins and the sins of his people ?" The driver looked puzzled and was silent as I followed up by saying that Jesus is the ONLY Son of God and the Only way to Salvation. He was tortured and executed , but rose from the dead to provide Salvation and newness of Life to all who would Believe. Neither Mohammed nor any other Faith Leader has done this and My Jesus IS the Only answer. You have no answer to my question have you? Yours is an empty and false Religion and it's so sad that you have been deceived and lied to all of your life" I had to leave it there as there was a lineup up of traffic behind his vehicle. Of course , My words were short and I would consider incomplete, BUT Holy Spirit speaks where and when our words seem to fall short. Don't give in to Satanic whispered accusations of inadequacy and imperfection ! Be willing to speak , and DO SO. The Timing is of the Lord's provision . He will do the rest !0 Comments 0 Shares 20 Views - AWESOME Worship Song...WITH a MESSAGE!!!! Unlike a lot of music TODAY!!!! PRAISE GOD!!!! Pastor Tim!AWESOME Worship Song...WITH a MESSAGE!!!!
