How to hear and understand the Gospel
VII: The Lord's Speech
Job 38:1-2 Then the LORD addresses Job out of the storm and said:
Who is this that obscures divine plans with words of ignorance?
Job 40:6-7 Then the LORD addresses Job out of the storm and said:
Gird up your loins now, like a man. I will question you, and you tell me the answers!
Job 42:3-7 (no Verse 4 given) I have dealt with great things that I do not understand; things too wonderful for me, which I cannot know.
I had heard of you by word of mouth, but now my eye has seen you.
Therefore I disown what I have said, and repent in dust and ashes.
VIII: Epilogue
Job's Restoration
And it came to pass after the LORD had spoken these words to Job,
that the LORD said to Eliphaz the Temanite, "I am angry with you and your two friends; for you have not spoken rightly concerning me, as has my servant Job.
Romans 10:14-17 But how can they call on him in whom they have not believed? And how can they believe in him of whom they have not heard? And how can they hear without someone to preach?
And how can people preach unless they are sent? As it is written, "How beautiful are the feet of those who bring Theophilus Senyo good news!"
But not everyone has heeded the good news; for Isaiah says, "Lord, who has believed what was heard from us?"
Thus faith comes from what is heard, and what is heard comes through the word of Christ.
Acts 26:17-18 I shall deliver you from this people and from the Gentiles to whom I send you,
to open their eyes that they may turn from darkness to light and from the power of Satan to God, so that they may obtain forgiveness of sins and an inheritance among those who have been consecrated by faith in me.'
Romans 15:4-7 For whatever was written previously was written for our instruction, that by endurance and by the encouragement of the scriptures we might have hope.
May the God of endurance and encouragement grant you to think in harmony with one another, in keeping with Christ Jesus,
that with one accord you may with one voice glorify the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ.

Romans 15:1 Exploring The Way
Romans 15:1 EVEN IF WE believe that it makes no difference to the Lord whether we do these things, still we cannot just go ahead and do them to please ourselves;
Galatians 6:1-2 DEAR BROTHERS, If a Christian is over come by some sin, you who are godly should gently and humbly help him back onto the right path, remembering that next time it might be one of you who is in the wrong.
Share each other's troubles and problems, and so obey our Lord's command.
Galatians 6:4-5 Let everyone be sure that he is doing his very best, for then he will have the personal satisfaction of work well done, and won't need to compare himself with someone else.
Each of us must bear some faults and burdens of his own. For none of us is perfect!
Romans 2:1-11 "WELL," you may be saying, "what terrible people you have been talking about!" But wait a minute! You are just as bad. When you say they are wicked and should be punished, you are talking about yourselves, for you do these very same things.
And we know that God in justice, will punish anyone who does such things as these.
Do you think that God will judge and condemn others for doing them and overlook you when you do them, too?
Don't you realize how patient he is being with you? Or don't you care? Can't you see that he has been waiting all this time without punishing you, to give you time to turn from your sin? His kindness is meant to lead you to repentance.
But no, you won't listen; and so you are saving up terrible punishment for yourselves because of your stubbornness in refusing to turn from your sin; for there is going to come a day of wrath when God we be the just Judge of all the world.
He will give each one whatever his deeds deserve.
He will give eternal life to those who patiently do the will of God, seeking for unseen glory and honor and eternal life that he offers.
But he will terrible punish those who fight against the truth of God and walk in evil ways--God's anger will be poured out upon them.
There will be sorrow and suffering for Jews and Gentiles alike who keep on sinning.
But there will be glory and honor and peace from God for all who obey him, whether they are Jews or Gentiles.
For God treats everyone the same.
Ephesians 4:25-28 Stop lying to each other; tell the truth, for we are parts of each other and when we lie to each other we are hurting ourselves.
If you are angry, don't sin by nursing your grudge. Don't let the sun go down with you still angry--get over it quickly;
for when you are angry you give a mighty foothold to the devil.
If anyone is stealing he must stop it and begin using those hands of his for honest work so he can give to others in need.
1 Thessalonians 5:14-15 Dear brothers, warn those who are lazy; comfort those who are frightened; take tender care of those who are weak; and be patient with everyone.

Romans 15:1 English Exploring GNB
Please Others, not Yourselves
Romans 15:1 We who are strong in the faith ought to help the weak to carry their burdens. We should not please ourselves.
Bear One Another's Burdens
Galatians 6:1-2 My brothers and sisters, if someone is caught in any kind of wrongdoing, those of you who are spiritual should set him right; but you must do it in a gentle way. And keep an eye on yourselves, so that you will not be tempted, too.
Help to carry one another's burdens, and in this way you will obey the law of Christ.
Galatians 6:4-5 You should each judge your own conduct. If it is good, then you can be proud of what you yourself have done, without having to compare it with what someone else has done.
For we each have our own load to carry.
God's Judgement
Romans 2:1-11 Do you, my friend, pass judgement on others? You have no excuse at all, whoever you are. For when you judge others and then do the same things which they do, you condemn yourself.
We know that God is right when he judges the people who do such things as these.
But you, my friend, do those very things for which you pass judgement on others! Do you think you will escape God's judgement?
Or perhaps you despise his great kindness, tolerance, and patience. Surely you know that God is kind, because he is trying to lead you to repent.
But you have a hard and stubborn heart, and so you are making your own punishment even greater on the Day when God's anger and righteous judgements will be revealed.
For God will reward every person according to what each has done.
Some people keep on doing good, and seek glory, honour, and immortal life; to them God will give eternal life.
Other people are selfish and reject what is right, in order to follow what is wrong; on them God will pour out his anger and fury.
There will be suffering and pain for all those who do what is evil, for the Jews first and also for the Gentiles.
But God will give glory, honour, and peace to all who do what is good, to the Jews first and also to the Gentiles.
For God judges everyone by the same standard.
Ephesians 4:25-28 No more lying, then! Each of you must tell the truth to one another, because we are all members together in the body of Christ.
If you become angry, do not let your anger lead you into sin, and do not stay angry all day.
Don't give the Devil a chance.
Those who used to rob must stop robbing and start working, in order to earn an honest living for themselves and to be able to help the poor.
1 Thessalonians 5:14-15 We urge you, our brothers and sisters, to warn the idle, encourage the timid, help the weak, be patient with everyone.

How to hear and understand the Gospel
The LORD Answers Job
Job 38:1-2 Then out of the storm the LORD spoke to Job.
The LORD
Who are you to question my wisdom with your ignorant, empty words?
Job 40:6-7 Then out of the storm the LORD spoke to Job once again.
The LORD
Stand up straight now, and answer my questions.
Job 42:4-7 You told me to listen while you spoke and to try to answer your questions.
In the past I knew only what others had told me, but now I have seen you with my own eyes.
So I am ashamed of all I have said and repent in dust and ashes.
Conclusion
After the LORD had finished speaking to Job, he said to Eliphaz, “I am angry with you and your two friends, because you did not speak the truth about me, as my servant Job did.
Romans 10:14-17 But how can they call to him for help if they have not believed? And how can they believe if they have not heard the message? And how can they hear if the message is not proclaimed?
And how can the message be proclaimed if the messengers are not sent out? As the scripture says, “How wonderful is the coming of messengers who bring good news!”
But not all have accepted the Good News. Isaiah himself said, “Lord, who believed our message?”
So then, faith comes from hearing the message, and the message comes through preaching Christ.
Acts 26:17-18 I will rescue you from the people of Israel and from the Gentiles to whom I will send you.
You are to open their eyes and turn them from the darkness to the light and from the power of Satan to God, so that through their faith in me they will have their sins forgiven and receive their place among God's chosen people.’
Romans 15:4-7 For whatever was written in earlier times was written for our instruction, so that through perseverance and the encouragement of the Scriptures we might have hope.
Now may the God who gives perseverance and encouragement grant you to be of the same mind with one another according to Christ Jesus,
so that with one accord you may with one voice glorify the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ.
Therefore, accept one another, just as Christ also accepted us to the glory of God.Isaiah 55:11 GNB So also will be the word that I speak —it will not fail to do what I plan for it; it will do everything I send it to do. 2 Timothy 3:16-17 GNB All Scripture is inspired by God and is useful for teaching the truth, rebuking error, correcting faults, and giving instruction for right living, so that the person who serves God may be fully qualified and equipped to do every kind of good deed. 2 Peter 1:19-21 GNB So we are even more confident of the message proclaimed by the prophets.
