- Hello all,
So I’m sorry I haven’t been on much. It has been a hectic and bad last few weeks and the last week was even worse. Went in to get evaluated for kidney and pancreas transplant. They denied that. Meaning we are stuck doing dialysis. Some may know but being only 33 and already doing dialysis along with my other health issues that does not bode well for quality of life or length of life. So it’s been a pretty hard blow. Add to that family member getting cancer again after battling it and having a stroke before. It’s been one hit after another.Hello all, So I’m sorry I haven’t been on much. It has been a hectic and bad last few weeks and the last week was even worse. - https://www.thesimplebaptist.net/post/thursday-thoughtsThursday ThoughtsFirst off, I hope everyone is doing well. It has been a busy week for me. Even not having school I have been going through and am digitizing old cassettes that have preaching and making them digital. Something I will share here when I am done doing it. I want us to think of something for a moment. How many of you are tired? If we are actually honest, I think most of us would have to admit that yes, we are tired. Whether that be mentally tired or physically tired. We live in a world that is craz0 Comments 0 Shares 27 Views

- So here are a few thoughts on Matthew 27 as we are quickly approaching Resurrection Sunday.
Firstly, Judas went to the wrong people for forgiveness. He went to man when only Christ could forgive him for what he had done. Had he gone to Christ and sought forgiveness things would have gone differently (vs 1-10).
Secondly is Pilate. Found through the rest of the chapter. With him we see that he could tell Jesus was different from everyone else. He also saw that the Jews that brought Jesus to him had done it simply because of envy (vs 18). History also shows us that Pilate was not a great individual so the fact he understood and tried to prevent this death speak volumes. I also find it interesting at the end of the chapter when the Jewish leaders ask for guards for the tomb, he grants it but tells them to make it as sure as they can. I can't help but think he said that line with some sarcasm to them as he understood something was different with Jesus and him knowing they would fail (vs 65).
Lastly and most importantly is the crucifixion. Jesus refused the drugs at that time (vs 34). Christ chose to feel the pain in its full might. He chose not to dull it with drugs and pain relievers. Consider also how beaten and unrecognizable he would have been by the time he reached the cross. Despite that he chose to feel it all. Notice also that the Jewish rulers tried to get Him to come down. This was satans last attempt to stop Gods plan. As we know it failed. Then we come to vs 46. Jesus was alone. For the first time in eternity Jesus was left alone and God had to turn his back on Him as He bore our sins. this is why in Hebrews He tells us He will never leave us or forsake us!
Tomorrow, I will do it for Mark as I will be reading all 4 Gospels accounts and will have a special post for Sunday. So here are a few thoughts on Matthew 27 as we are quickly approaching Resurrection Sunday.
