  • You Don't Want to Leave Too, Do You?
“‘You do not want to leave too, do you?’ Jesus asked the Twelve.” — John 6:67

Jesus had just delivered a hard teaching—one that many found difficult to accept. As a result, many of His followers turned back and no longer walked with Him. In the wake of this mass departure, Jesus looked at His closest disciples and asked, “Do you want to leave too?”
This moment cuts to the heart of true discipleship. Following Jesus isn’t always easy. His words challenge our comfort, confront our sin, and demand our surrender. When crowds walked away, it wasn’t because Jesus failed—they simply weren’t willing to embrace the cost of commitment.
But Peter responded on behalf of the Twelve with powerful faith: “Lord, to whom shall we go? You have the words of eternal life” (v. 68). That’s the heart of a disciple. Even when the road is hard, even when we don’t fully understand, we cling to Christ because we know there is no life apart from Him.
When you face spiritual confusion, cultural pressure, or personal trial, will you remain with Jesus? He alone has the words of eternal life. Stay close to the One who never walks away from you.
