  • Subject: Share Our Story and Mission

    Dear sir/ madam,

I am Musankishayi Mbombo, Director of Corneille Orphanage, located in Dzaleka Refugee Camp, Malawi.

Our orphanage is dedicated to providing a safe and nurturing environment for orphaned and vulnerable children living in the refugee camp. We believe that every child deserves to grow up in an environment that fosters their physical, emotional, and intellectual development.

Since our establishment, we have helped dozens of children access education, healthcare, and recreational activities. We are proud to see the progress our children have made and are convinced that our work has a positive impact on their lives.

However, we face significant challenges in continuing to provide our services. We are therefore seeking individuals who share our vision and are willing to help us achieve our mission.

I would like to know if you would be interested in learning more about our orphanage and the ways we support orphaned and vulnerable children. We are open to all forms of support, whether through volunteering, donations of goods or services, or simply guidance and advice.

Thank you for your time and consideration. I look forward to discussing with you how we can work together to support orphaned and vulnerable children.

    Best regards,

    Musankishayi Mbombo

    HISTORY OF VALENTINES DAY

When Emperor Claudius demanded that Christians deny their consciences and worship pagan idols, Valentine refused. Valentine was arrested, dragged before the Prefect of Rome, who condemned him to die.
While awaiting execution, his jailer, Asterius, asked Valentine to pray for his blind daughter. When she miraculously regained her sight, the jailer converted and was baptized, along with many others. Right before his execution, Valentine wrote a note to the jailer's daughter, signing it, "from your Valentine."

Valentine was beaten with clubs and stones, and then beheaded outside the Flaminian Gate on FEBRUARY 14, 269AD.
This eventually developed into the 18th-century English traditions of presenting flowers, offering confectionery and sending Valentine greeting cards.
People often sign Valentine cards with X's and O's. “X" became a common
abbreviation for the name Christ. In Medieval times, the "X" was called the Christ's Cross.

This is the origin of signing a Valentines' card with an "X" to express a pledge before God to be faithful and an "O" to seal the pledge with a kiss of sincerity.
