Proverbs 11:27 teaches us that the direction of our search determines the outcome of our life. To diligently seek good means more than having a hopeful attitude; it means fixing our heart on what is right, holy, and pleasing to God. Scripture consistently shows that those who pursue righteousness and truth are met with God’s favor, for He delights in those who reflect His character (Psalm 34:12-15, Matthew 5:6). But the verse also carries a sober warning: when a person’s focus is on evil, whether through bitterness, fault-finding, or sinful desires, that very evil will return upon them. This is the unchanging law of sowing and reaping (Galatians 6:7-8). No one can escape this truth. What we choose to chase will eventually shape us, and it will either lead us under God’s blessing or under His judgment. Therefore, if we set our eyes to seek good, we will not only discover favor with others, but above all, we will walk under the smile of God’s approval.
