Scripture
> “And he blessed Joseph, and said: ‘God, before whom my fathers Abraham and Isaac walked, the God who has fed me all my life long to this day.’”
— Genesis 48:15 (NKJV)
.
The God Who Has Fed Me
In this verse, Jacob is at the end of his life. He’s seen hardship, loss, and years of struggle—but also God’s consistent faithfulness. As he blesses Joseph and Joseph’s sons, Jacob calls God “the God who has fed me all my life long to this day.”
The Hebrew word for fed here also carries the meaning of shepherded. Jacob wasn’t just saying God provided food—he was acknowledging that God had led, guided, protected, and sustained him through every season.
This is powerful because Jacob’s life wasn’t smooth. He experienced family conflict, deceit, fear, famine, and grief. Yet his testimony at the end wasn’t about the troubles—it was about God’s faithful care through them all.
This verse invites us to pause and recognize:
God’s provision is constant, not occasional.
God’s care is personal—like a shepherd with his sheep.
Looking back at His faithfulness strengthens our faith for the future.
Reflection Questions
1. When I look back on my life, can I see how God has shepherded and sustained me?
2. Do I thank God for His daily provision, or only when I have abundance?
3. How can I testify to others about His lifelong faithfulness?
Prayer
Faithful Shepherd, thank You for guiding and sustaining me every day of my life. Even in the seasons I didn’t understand, You were leading me with love. Help me to trust Your care for today and tomorrow. Let my life and words declare that You have been faithful from the beginning until now. In Jesus’ name, Amen.0 Comments 0 Shares 9 Views1
