    LMVSC Academy System

LMVSC Travel Soccer utilizes an academy system format for all U9 to U14 teams, raising coaching standards and fostering player development across the entire club.

    Format

Each age group forms a unified team (Patriots) with multiple squads (Red, White, and Blue). Players move fluidly across squads, training under the Academy Head Coach with guidance from individual Team Head Coaches. Exceptional players may also earn opportunities to train and compete with higher age groups.  This structure ensures familiarity with all coaches and squads within the age group, enabling comprehensive development through diverse coaching insights.

Squads may be composed of players from multiple birth years based on developmental needs, competitive structure, and team composition goals. All roster decisions, including player movement between squads or age groups, are made solely at the discretion of the coaching staff in collaboration with technical staff. Participation in a given squad or age group does not guarantee permanent placement.

    Coaching Structure

The Academy Head Coach oversees training across all squads, with Team Head Coaches focusing on their specific squads. Player movement between squads enhances development, and players may be invited to train and compete with older age groups. This approach ensures comprehensive growth for both players and coaches.

    Player Development Pathway

At LMVSC, we provide a clear development pathway for players to reach their highest potential, both regionally and nationally. Our teams compete in top-tier leagues, including the ECNL for U13-U19 players, offering national exposure and opportunities for recognition. Younger players compete in highly competitive regional leagues like NCSL and VPSL, with U13-U19 players advancing to elite leagues like ECNL RL, EDP, and NCSL.

Through our affiliation with the Marauders, we also offer players a direct path to professional soccer with opportunities in the USL W and USL 2 leagues. Our commitment to player development ensures a competitive environment at every stage, with exposure to top-level competition, college recruitment, and the potential to reach national championships. Whether starting their journey or progressing towards collegiate soccer, LMVSC is dedicated to helping players succeed at every level.

    Patriot Academy Training

The Patriot Academy Training (PAT) Program offers weekly sessions for all U9 to U14 travel teams, focusing on developing players’ technical, physical, and tactical skills while strengthening the club community. Created by our Technical Director, Fabien Lewis, the curriculum is engaging, challenging, and designed to push players to grow. Players rotate through different staff coaches each week, gaining diverse perspectives and benefiting from the collective expertise of our coaching team. LMVSC maintains a family-friendly atmosphere, welcoming parents to watch, socialize, and connect, while gaining insight into their child’s development and building relationships within our soccer community.

    Fairfax Virginia Union

We are excited to announce that LMVSC Travel Soccer is now officially affiliated with the Fairfax Virginia Union (FVU)! This partnership brings new opportunities for our players and takes our program to new heights.

For those unfamiliar, FVU is the only Elite Clubs National League (ECNL) member club in Fairfax County. ECNL is the top youth soccer league in the U.S., and this affiliation showcases the dedication of our players, coaches, and families.

After overcoming challenges since 2019 and the pandemic, we’ve made significant strides under the leadership of our Technical Director, Fabien Lewis, and Director of Coaches, Kurt Borel. Our acceptance into ECNL-RL was a major milestone, and this partnership with FVU is another exciting step forward.

This collaboration opens doors for our athletes to compete at elite levels, with opportunities for college recruitment and national recognition. It also strengthens our community, uniting clubs like Valor, Villarreal, Braddock Road, Vienna, and Herndon toward a shared vision of growth and excellence in Northern Virginia.

We’re thrilled for the future of LMVSC Travel Soccer and grateful for the ongoing support of our dedicated community. The journey has just begun!
