The Feeling

I smell his scent.

He was in my dream again last night.

I miss feeling his chest pressed tightly against mine.

The feeling of his heart beat.

My heart beat

in time.

I want to feel it

just one more time.

Then maybe,

another.

Love is my inspiration,

Or sorrow.

Which one will it be tomorrow?

My Mother’s Dreams

The young black boy sat next to me.  10 years old maybe.  I loved him and he loved me.  He gave me a quarter.  I didn’t know why, but I thought it was sweet. A mic was passed around the room.  We were to tell each other what we did in our lives.  Our lives mattered.  Our lives mattered.

Surprise!

Don’t you love it when you look back in your notebook, on what you’ve written, and think

“Who wrote that?”

Writing can be such an otherworldly place.  A magical journey, totally submerged into the moment.  So deep in the flow zone that there is no memory of ever being there.

All you have to do is jump aboard!

Let go of control or expectations, and enjoy the ride!

Are you with me on this one?

If you’ve never been there, give it a try!

This morning

Last night I ate crackers and pink grapefruit in bed.

This morning I woke up dreaming of you.

American Justice

Exactly how I see it. Felt this important to share from Mindful Musings

kerryd1957's avatarMindful Musings

If you

are born in the USA

you learn from an early age

through TV and movies

cartoons and video games

in church and in school

the way to deal

with those you’re taught to hate

the commies and the fags

the indians and the niggers

the spics and the jews

to name a few

is to put them down

six feet under

preferably with a gun

our cowboy heroes did it

on the silver screen

our good cop/bad cop

partners did it

and got a laugh

teenagers sit in basements

and shoot each other

with no consequence

across the ethernet

no remorse

that’s how you win

and win we must

shock and awe

for oil and profit

we cheer

because they

the other

are the bad guys

so bad

they’re not really human

and missiles fly

from ships and drones

bombs drop from the sky

sterile from a distance

Gratitude for You and Pink Grapefruit

With each juicy bite,

Pink pulp wedged between my teeth

I remember your soft lips,

Each tender kiss,

Every second our bodies moved in and out of a new reality.

And I’m grateful.

Grateful for the beauty.

For the feelings that we shared,

For knowing you cared.

For that sweet taste you left deep inside of me,

in each moment,

And for an eternity.

Perspective

I was starting to wonder if I was alive.

Then the sun came out.

Haunted

You begged me to  stay.

Instead,

I left you there,

all alone.

With him.
