Mystery ‘ruins’ off Louisiana coast

Mysterious ‘ruins’ off Louisiana coast spark theories of 12,000-year-old lost city

“An amateur archaeologist claims to have uncovered the ruins of an ancient city that once thrived off the coast of Louisiana roughly 12,000 years ago.
Retired architect George Gelé said he has found clues that ‘hundreds of buildings’ are buried beneath the waters near the Chandeleur Islands, a chain of uninhabited barrier islands about 50 miles east of New Orleans in the Gulf of America.”

Lithium “gold-rush” may come to Louisiana

“The US Geological Survey (USGS) found between five and 19 million tons of lithium in the Smackover Formation, which is nine times the amount needed to meet the ongoing electric vehicle demand in the US by the end of the decade.

“The metal is a necessary component for batteries used in EVs and can be extracted from the brine wastewater from the same mines that produce oil and gas.”
