My name is Josh, and I get to be the husband of one amazing wife and the father to four cute boys.
However, far too many times I find myself being passive and mindless when it comes to the entertainment I engage with. I sit down at the end of a long day, and I just want to be entertained. However, God has made you and me for so much more! He created us to love Him with all that we have, including our minds. That is our highest good. No show, no game, no experience could ever compare to reveling in the holy beauty and righteous majesty of God.
Sadly, neither you nor I have ever perfectly done that. In fact, we often do quite the opposite. We use our minds to love anything but God. And yet in His infinite mercy, God made a way for us back to right relationship with Him, to a right use of our minds. Through the glorious and gracious work of the Son, the Father makes it possible through the work of the Spirit to not be “conformed to this world, but be transformed by the renewal of your mind…” (Romans 12:2). (If you would like to know more about this good news, check this out!).
So, what does this have to do with my blog? I started this blog to do exactly what the title says, “Keep Thinking.” I want to keep thinking about how my Christian faith intersects with all aspects of life, particularly the entertainment and pop culture I engage with (To see what I’ve been enjoying lately, check out some of my favorites). This blog is a simple attempt to love God by using my mind and my words to actively engage with entertainment in my life. I hope this blog and my meager musings encourage you to do the same. Keep thinking!
