On Tuesday 21 April 2026, at 14:00-15:00 AEST (02:00-03:00 UTC) the Australian Internet Observatory (AIO) will host a webinar ‘Doing Digital Platform Research with AIO‘. Despite the importance of digital platforms and the abundance of data they contain, the capacity to independently collect and analyse their data for research remains limited. To address this challenge, the Australian Internet Observatory is developing new tools and methods for social data research using data donations, APIs and other methods. This session will provide an overview of these tools and how they are currently being applied in research projects.

Daniel Angus – Professor of Digital Communication in the School of Communication, Queensland University of Technology (QUT)
Nic Carah – Professor in the School of Communication and Arts, University of Queensland
