Actually, I have been for a couple of days. *hides* People on Twitter/Tumblr will have already noticed, lol.
But I've been lazy, and I'm still too lazy, to post a proper report yet. There probably will be one, with some pics - but just know that we had OODLES of fun. Exhausting fun. ♥
On the het_bigbang front, I'm done with Act 2 / 62% to wordcount. I'll probably post an excerpt on the filter in the next few days!
Alas, back to school next week, at least for room setup and such. *cries*
WOW. I don't think I've had an online birthday like that before! Did they change a setting on Facebook to make it easier to notice birthdays?
So if you said Happy Birthday yesterday on Twitter, Facebook, LJ or email:
THANK YOU, I LOVE YOU. ♥
But I have to say, the cherry on the top was this:
This was from the Community Behind-the-Scenes for episode 2.16, "Intermediate Documentary Filmmaking," which guest starred LeVar Burton, and was a send-up of mockumentary-style sitcoms (The Office, Modern Family, Parks and Recreation). They answer one question from a fan each time -- and this time it was me! ♥♥♥
40 to be exact. (Got any wisdom, oh wiser than I?)
I'm not expecting much hoohah, either in RL or online, because: **Ash Wednesday Mass **in which things will be combined with Shrove Tuesday liturgical dance because: **we just had a four-day weekend caused by yet another snow day, which canceled the celebration tonight **with a possible 2-hour delay to also cancel the Ash Wednesday Mass We DID have a delay. I have no idea what will happen with all of that now... **auditions for the 4-6 grade musical until 4:00 **followed by lessons until 7:00pm **plus, I've been really quiet about it online as well as RL.
So happy birthday, me! *\o/*
T. is going to take me somewhere on Saturday, but what lovely luck I'm having for tomorrow! ;D
I've been really busy with a summer class and I am leaving tomorrow for vacation until July 21st. As a result, there will probably be no:
1) fic updates (generally)
2) commenting on LJ-entries (though I may randomly drop in on some)
3) chat
There will be:
1) supes_mv_awards-related business taken care of (three more days - vote, peeps!)
2) one fic update - a birthday fic
So, for me, please:
If you've posted fic this week that hasn't been reviewed, and you want to make sure I do - comment here! Also, anything I miss during the next 10 days, I want to know about, too. Personal, fandom, fic...
I promise to do my best to catch up when I return. I am taking a to-be-read pile with me, so you may get random comments on stories here and there. :)
1. Little one had her birthday on Thursday -- she's now five!
2. Finally saw Iron Man last night! Yayz! I know that I've been leaving random bits of squee on everyone's LJ already, but I hadn't actually seen it yet. No plot bunnies, though, so don't worry.
3. We took the girl to a friend's house while we went to dinner and the movie - and she came back with painted fingernails. One hand is red, the other is blue. It's so cute. She's turning into a regular little girl. :)
4. I'm feeling somewhat better today, but still having a sore stomach. I hope it's gone by Monday, because being sick so close to the end of school is sucky.
5. Oh, yeah, it's our anniversary today. Sixteen years. :)
6. A meme to finish off the post, stolen from cuyler_morgan:
There were also a bunch of people who said Happy Birthday on my last entry -- thanks to all of you! Please check out and comment on the "Clois movieverse essay" thread if you have something to contribute, and please review my final chapter of DV (there are some conspicuous absences in my regular reviewers... so just a friendly reminder... *hugs*) Ouch! Anissa! Stop pushing me into the snow! *grumbles as she shakes snow out of her hair... again*
I usually avoid getting pouty online, but I felt a tiny bit justified this time. There is no progress being made on Deja Vu right now, because:
1) Interim grades were due this week, and I had let the grading pile up!
2) I got sick. I think it's strep. I'll go to the doctor tomorrow - but I don't want to take Ashlyn with me to the germ-fest that is a doctor's office when she's perfectly healthy.
3) My beta is really busy with end of term stuff with her job. So the outline isn't finished yet.
And now for the biggest pout of all... I pre-ordered the Donner Cut of Superman II from Best Buy... and when it arrived, it was the HD-DVD version! Then sickness overtook me, and I couldn't go exchange it. When I went today, cold front or no, strep or no, they didn't have it in stock. So my card was credited... but I was no closer to DVD-owning.
BestBuy.com doesn't carry the regular version! And the cheapest version I can find is more expensive than what I paid. Don't get me started on my financial woes right now. But suffice it to say, I can't afford it to be more expensive, even by a dollar. :(
On the bright side, I still will get to see it, through the wonders of *cough*bittorrent*cough*. In... *checks the status bar* ...about an hour.
Grades are due Tuesday at midnight... and if I don't want to go insane this weekend, I really should grade 80 tests tonight. That's right. 8. 0. And then another 80 this weekend, and 60 more on Monday. Double Grr..
On a brighter note, I have my outline all finished for Ch. 29! But having time to write.... not so hopeful. :(
A gimme is sort of like that... It's a fandom that is easy to pick up just in case the person you are matched with didn't get inspired by your prompts. Also tends to make treats more likely.
Oh, a "gimme" -- is that when you throw in something that you're pretty sure you'll get matched on? (My gimme request in 2011 was Oglaf, and though it did go to pinch the fic I received was four…
